I got the Perrin one. I'm pretty sure it's basically a rebadged PTP one with a slightly higher price but I have pretty much everything else Perrin so I'll stick with brand consistency.

Been a while since the last update so here's whats been happenning.
Removed the shifter bushings because they were too noisey. Turbo blanket and ID1000 injectors also fitted. Turbo blanket hasnt done much for intake temps but seems to have reduced engine coolant temperatures by about 3 degrees. Less heat radiation to the block I guess. Replaced both OCVs. OCV and AVCS left/right duty seem to be in sync now. Hopefully that helps.

Still major issues with lag and fueling. Got check engine lights for system too lean. Engine lacking in power and running rough. Boost oscillates like crazy. Seemed to get worse. Traced the problem to a faulty wastegate actuator. The actuator arm was loose and wobbley almost like it had been snapped inside. The diaphram leaks when it opens and looses a lot of pressure through the leak as well as causing it to oscillate open and shut (causing the boost oscillation). I got the turbo from CarModsAustralia but Pro Speed Racing is the agent/supplier for the turbo so they handle the warranty. After a week or so waiting for Pro Speed they finally sent a new wastegate actuator. It was broken in exactly the same way. After that, they did they usual Pro Speed appauling customer service thing of not answering phone calls or emails from both STechnic and CarModsAustralia (I know I'm not the only one here to have trouble with Pro Speed). After a few weeks of arguing, CMA finally resolved the problem for me by sending me a new Turbosmart IWG75 aftermarket internal wastegate actuator at no cost. Very nice of them as the problem was with Pro Speed not them. Hopefully they get the cost covered through the warranty. The new wastegate has fully resolved the boost oscillation problem as well as improving low end torque and turbo response. It seems all the mechanical issues are now fixed.

All that remains are a few tuning fixes and some fine tuning when Matt gets to Perth. Tip-in is a bit lean and theres a massive flat spot issue and some jerkiness between 2800-3200rpm. Not sure whats causing that but we will find out on the dyno now that the mechanical problems are out of the way. It will be nice for this to finally be working.

Profile updated.

Hi Mike

Wow, that was an interesting read! It was great to meet you at the cruise and also good to chat after Grill'd. :) After reading that... it's definitely a case of 2 steps forward, 1 step back for you. Hopefully it will be happy days when Matt comes and chucks your car up on the dyno!

Well good news regarding my car, booking my place with Matt as well to see if he can rid of the ECU-'REK' tune. Tried to do some logging for him but it kept throwing up an error reading the ecu using EcuFlash. Not much I can do til he gets here!

Dan
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

They would have changed your ECU ID so the software cant tell what model your car is. I had that problem with my old tune.

So Matt worked his magic on my car on Friday and the results are in. The cause of the remaining engine problems was rather odd. My fuel pump filter assembly was clogged with algae and there was some water floating in the fuel inside it (none in the tank). Replacing it solved the engine performance issues. The tune exceeded expectations. We kept it well on the safe side and got 223kw atw and 425nm of torque. I'll have a dyno sheet posted once I get around to scanning it.

There you go ;)
So the in-tank bucket/filter part or the pump-end sock? Or both clogged?
Congrats on your new, new, new car ;)

It was the in-tank filter that the pump clips into.
