I don't believe u had 4 blokes wheel spinning.. matt you need to stop saying that stuff cause people think youre full of it

2 rexnet members in the car, so not phased at all. Pulled onto the Princes Highway in Sydney and hit like a sledge hammer coming onto boost. Yes, I tuned it down as running a tune that aggressive is not worthwhile BUT it is possible

Actually, there is a get VF46 LGT's who get wheelspin with 3 people in the car in Sport in the manuals(Paggaz for example as a few people on this forum have seen) so what is so hard to believe about a 20g dropping back a gear on an STi with an auto doing it?

We better do it soon, the guys that changed my transmission oil today were so impressed with the car they offered to buy it... :o

I'm still not happy with the medium throttle gear change from 2nd to 3rd, so I'll check out the timing and fueling as you said matt, but I'm telling you there's no slip. You're welcome to come and check it out.

Hey Matt,

I want to ask if we increase the line pressure, increase the Requested Torque as you say - will that stop my clutch slipping?

Matt is talking about a completely different set of tables here alexei

He has somehow (bastard) cracked the hex code to allow tcu tables to be accessed

That's cool, has it made a difference?

I was replying about Matt's dbw -

alexeiwoody wrote:Yes tcu resets make a difference initially, then it just feels the same after a while. Which points more to just the tcu relearning making it feel different, the tunes on the other hand don't differ noticeably.

So why doesn't increasing the entire RT work?

And dan at rtr said to me it was slipping on your tune as well... :? he said ditch the car, the tranny is slipping, no point in more power, autos aren't reliable, can't hold the power etc etc etc

It was not slipping, the 'waves' was a dyno issue as confirmed by a manual having the same problem on the Thursday I was there ;)

Ask Kewish Transmissions in Dandenong to confirm I know what I am on about ;) It definitely does make a difference. Send me some RomRaider TCU logs of all available logging parameters. I have ones from a few other members that I can use as a baseline for an overlay :)

My car now makes more power than it did on that dyno, both at the engine and at the wheels. Running less ReqTq than the dyno. Accelerates faster, and pulls harder.

So how much ReqTq is too much, do you need to turn it up lots - if you don't have enough power to slip your clutch? Will runninga heap more ReqTq benefit you or cause more impact on the internal gearbox components?

It makes the downshifts more responsive. But should you use 420 requested torque it you only need 330 to hold all your power?

Looks like the drag day is cancelled, due to some accounting errors :(

Maybe this friday then

Depends on the car but more importantly the SHAPE of the DBW and Target Boost is what stops slip(as seen in the RomRaider 5EAT tuning thread) because going from wastegate boost pressure to full boost does not give the transmission a chance to smooth itself out and ramp up line pressure. Too much line pressure and the gearbox is sucking power as it uses engine power to drive up oil pressure so it can go backwards

Have you tested how much power is lost through the tran pump cause I wouldn't then there is much they are not that big

My biggest peeve is getting the auto to shift at wot out of 1st. I think you had a similar problem with Rome's car.

It shifts manually just fine, but it would be nice for it to shift itself at the redline. Having the extra power from mods definitely makes a difference in this area.

13.2psi peak power tune, needs a little more boost but not bad for 2 people in the car either. Notice the 1st to 2nd gearsnap :)

No issues changing out of 1st except on Romes car due to EVC6 not releasing boost to let the ECU shift... look at my maps and wonder why WGDC opens above 6000rpm ;)

TD06-25g on an auto, no issues changing in 1st gear

This may not be tune-reated. In my experience with the 5EAT, albeit limited, though I gave it a good flogging, it's really temperamental to ATF and the ATF temps... might be worth a flush and also an additional ATF cooler if not already done....just a thought

Already fixed the WGDC, target boost, Req Tq.

I mode changes perfectly, S and S# don't.

It's not a matter of boost or WGDC either. They won't shift even using identical dbw tables. I messaged you about it Matt and explained ;)

It looks like S and S# are getting different line pressure from somewhere else. Either I don't have all the tables identified, either the tcu is programmed this way.
