where do you buy the actual fuel filter for a gen 4 PF

Postby Surge » Sat Jan 11, 2014 8:41 pm

I was watching the following:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oWyn2JXzamY

Where did he buy just the filter?

Also where do you buy the sock filter (pre filter)?

There has got to be somewhere to get these at a reasonable cost.

Also has anyone got rid of the in tank filter and got a normal engine bay filter from a WRX? Would it be possible to relocate this filter?

I know it normally doesn't need servicing but I feel like that's BS.

I want to service mine after 5 years.

Also just so I don't have to start a new thread, could anyone tell me where I would locate the PCV valve in my engine bay on a 2.5i?
Ordered one about a week ago from subaru, would like to be prepared to change it when it's come in.

Yeah I couldn't fit 'post facelift' in the title.

I will try repco.

Is that for the sock filter or the one inside the housing?
Or both?
I really want to change both if possible, the guy in the video must have got one from somewhere and he doesn't mention buying the whole pump assembly.

Thanks.

The sock is really only a coarse pre-filter to protect the pump. The Ryco filter is a filter only.
TBH I wouldnt bother with the pre-filter.

Fairly sure the Ryco number is Z717. Repco or Bursons will soon tell you whether that is correct or not. If you give them the details of your car they will look up the corect fuel filter for it.

The Ryco filters website is very simple to use.
Plug in your vehicle details and BAM, the part number appears.
