Yea they seem top have a fair bit on them from the factory, i usually pat them down with a absorbent paper towel just before i put them in the air box.

When my cousin put the whole can of oil on the filter it dripped into the throttle body and the inlet manifold, i had to take everything apart and clean it all with brake cleaner and a rag. Some people have no common sense though.

With the resonator removal mod, would a tune be necessary afterwards or does it not affect it that much? Im after a bit of induction sound too but want to keep my car near stock. I already have a simota panel filter fitted. Just seems like every little thing you do to these without a tune throws a CEL, lol.

Do you have to clean the MAF all the time?

I've just got rid of my K&N pod as kept fouling the maf....

I'd replace it just before your next service.

Can not believe the difference.....

Oiled filters can lead to premature failure of MAF sensors. Try to run an unoiled filter if possible or if your do buy one like K&N which requires oiling, try and use a small amount.

Apexi panel filters are generally the way to go.
