Shaheenis wrote:As per my email Matt, not sure what you changed in the latest tune but the car feels the best it has since I have owned it. I thought it was supposed to be just an addition of flat foot shifting and launch control but the hesitation (which was still hanging around) now appears to be totally gone in S and S#. I logged on the way home from work last night in S and boost didn't see more than 13psi yet it felt smoother and stronger. Perhaps this is what fixed the hesitation, lower boost? Leaking TMIC perhaps?
I also *reluctantly* tried launch control in S# andI never knew my car had that in it (first time I ever have launched this lib, just did it for curiosity) and can't say I will be doing this again but for dragging this would be invaluable
. I did notice that after I launched I hit a rev-limiter or fuel cut (also first time) and almost went through the windscreen
. I guess that is where the FFS is supposed to immediately follow
.
jacks-GTB wrote:it might be fuel cutting because he didn't increase - "Rev limit fuel resume"... default is 24.36psi Absolute Pressure...easy fix
And actually much smoother, compared to the shifts I was able to do previously when accelerating hard.
tom_kauf wrote:It's awesome now!! Even though I bought the car with 150,000km, it pulls sooo much harder through midrange now. I was going to get some light mods (dump pipe), but now I think I'll leave the car stock. That's how happy I am with the tune.
tom_kauf wrote:One one occasion I was going from about 60-80, and I thought "wow, that's good acceleration for 3rd". Until I realised I was in 5th hehe..... then I thought "damn, that was great considering it was 5th" lol.
Kekotic wrote:Sorry but I have to disagree with you here.
The Stock Dump pipe and rest of the exhaust are so god damn restrictive. The fact that you can physically feel a dramatic difference in spool times and top end when changing dump pipes WITHOUT a tune is a testament to just how important it is to let the car breathe properly. Spend $1000 and get a turbo back exhaust, Pierberg 3 port solenoid boost controller.
Kekotic wrote:If you couldn't tell the difference between 3rd and 5th that tells me your car on the stock tune was running like absolute shit. Probably 110kw atw or so and just plain bad. You are probably running 140kw right now maybe a little more. Spend 1-1.5k and get 180kw atw, it is worth it.

+1!
Matt tuned mine the other week, stock really except catback, filter and silicone inlet, he estimated roughly 175kw atw.
Cars behaviour is incredibly different, power is there when you want/expect it and doesn't just "hit and run" to use that fraise. It stays and keeps pushing!
Can only imagine the difference again when a dump and tmic is added and it's re-tuned!!!

A good stock tune from Matt, is pretty awesome. Definitely makes you consider not having to modify it further
As far as guesstimating power on a stock tuned auto lib - 150kwatw maxxx
alexeiwoody wrote:Yep, I factored the catback in there
We all know that the tune is about how the car drives and not numbers. I also really liked your stock tune Matt when I had it. I just feel it's weird for you to give out numbers, when those numbers won't match any similar car with a dyno slip? And then those guys compare their numbers with everyone and say, my tuner is better than yours etc. Or post their estimate power in their signature and leave the rest to scratch our heads.
I very respectfully bet you $200 that that car won't pull up more than 160kw on any normal dyno, with your normal safe tune on it. I.e. the tune on the ECU now.
Again I don't think it matters. At all. I believe that car drives better than most tuners could get it to. I just think you should compare apples to apples here.
Cheers
