Just tested boost in my car. Doesnt start making boost until 4000rpm in 1st. Starts making it at 2800ish rpm in 2nd. Dont know about third. That feels like similar rev ranges to the last turbo though.

When you say doesn't start making boost, do u mean full boost or any boost. Cos that doesn't seem right

Any boost. But in saying that im only using an obdII bluetooth scanner and it might not be callibrated right.

Did you have an ECU tune with the same boost control strategy and DBW dynamics with the old turbo?
If not, there's no comparison. it most likely IS much faster.

To answer your question rob, he had an ecu tune with a full tbe prior. Tuned by the same tuner, for mid range torque both times. Hopefully you guys can fill in the gaps yourself.

While the logic behind tuning for 0-100 times is very extensive here, somebody's timer is definitely broken.

If something sounds stupid, it probably is.

Ok heres the thing. I'm getting sick of haters hating on things because they or their tuner can't achieve it

It's on par with saying because I haven't ever seen a million bucks, it mustn't exist

I have given examples on countless occasions of high 4 second 0-100 times with relatively stock setup and tune

Whether people believe it or not, it doesn't matter

People need to shut their mouths before speaking of things they have little to no knowledge, especially when they have failed themselves at reaching their goal yet have the audacity to smash others that have.

If you want proof - come and see me - pm for details

Good post

Confucius say, the best way to save face, is to keep the lower part of it shut.

PS. My car does 0-100 exactly the same as a convertible E92 M3 with DCT (5 sec flat). After that is where life begins for my turbo :) 100-240kmh is where the fun is at!

Need to get these fozzies down to prinny hwy..and just do 0-100 pulls. Mick's cousins in their 400kw Fords be like

The exact setup you have now Owen, in my car on eflex did 0-100 in 3.6 seconds

Its not that people are hating on matts tunes mick. Its just hard for some of us to grasp as no other tuners are getting cars to those results with just a tune. Doesn't mean we dont believe you, just want to know how he does it or what hes doing differently. And before I speak to my tuner i would have liked to make sure conditions were the same.. for example are the cars weight reduced, do they have normal road tyres, and are they normal tunes or specifically tuned for 0-100? If any of those are different to my set up id do the same to mine (excluding retune) to test mine and compare. Apples and apples as they say :D

You Sydney auto driving boys certainly had it sorted back then. I wish I got to run my old setup, would have been interesting.
On the 0-100 thing, i was arguing a similar point to this on the FB page the other day. I, along with peady100, was trying to explain how an auto with a smallish turbo is crazy fast out of the hole. I don't think people could grasp the concept of non liner acceleration or understand the fundamental differences, more so the strengths and weaknesses of auto and manual drive lines.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

I particularly liked the people saying on facebook that in their manuals if they shifted as fast as humanly possible its a quicker change than an auto haha.
Either way it seems the original posted question has been answered. You can get a tuned sti with exhaust to 100 in 5 seconds flat. All I need to do now is cry myself to sleep on all the money ive wasted hahaha

Well, I was just voicing my opinion on the claim of a TD04 Forester auto or manual regardless of tuner to be able to run 0-100 in the 4 sec bracket... If I upset anyone, my apologies... I'm just gonna go back to doing what I do around here. Peace :D

I seriously hope that wasn't in reference to my post? I don't recall ever saying a particular time was not possible. I did however say that Adam's modified liberty should be pulling ahead of any bone stock tuned (whoever the tuner. Ah hell, throw in a tbe and some magic bunny rabbits as well, why not) liberty. Would you agree?

If it wasn't in reference to my post, still, IMO this is the stupidest argument I've come across in ages here.

Take a look at a vf46 vs vf52 dyno graph, and tell me the vf46's "magical spooling abilities" (as a few people claim here) can outrun the vf52 powerband. Then tell 20 or so members of this forum that they've wasted their money and that their vf52 has made their car slower than stock within legal street speed limits. Watch them believe you, cry out in anguish and tear their clothes apart in anger and frustration. What a terrible lie the wrx owners invented, just so they can sell off their stock turbos for a premium to the unsuspecting liberty and forester owners. What a terrible mean prank to have played. I shudder at the thought!!

That's exactly what I think of the VF52. Spending good money to buy wrx owners' unwanted OE crap to make an extra 15-20kw. But hey..I'm not here to judge.

THIS is your problem.
A Dyno only allows the car to accelerate as fast as the dyno operator programs in.
As has been said above by other knowlegible people, "non-linear" acceleration tells you the complete story.

Ok lets take all the science out of it and let me ask a simple question.

If 2 identical liberty's had a drag race, one had a VF46 turbo, tbe and tune, the other had a VF52, tbe and same type of tune.... which would win?

For arguments sake lets say both cars were tuned by matt (kido) as he would be the best to answer this as hes getting the results out of the VF46.
