ECU Recovery Service (unbricking)

Hi all,

This service is available in Canberra from Entra Imports and covers the MY04-MY06 models with the 512 KB, 32 bit ECU.

I Express posted my ECU to them and they turned it around in one day. I also provided the latest image that I wanted to install and they have installed that and performed a validation.

Where they differ from others is that they work directly on the EEPROM within the ECU. This means they do not need to create harnesses to accommodate all the differing model variants, and hence the quick turn around. They do solder directly onto some specific point on the main board of the ECU in order to erase the EEPROM and then to rewrite the provided image.

I have had great service on the two occasions that I have used these guys and where unbricking is concerned, they are less than 1/10th of the costs of going thru Subaru for a similar service. They also have a range of aftermarket gear available on their website.

Running no. of weeks without breaking something in the lib: 0
No. of things still to fix in in the lib: 97

Got my ECU back on Thursday morning and re-installed it this morning. All good! Highly recommended.
