Needs black wheels to match all the black highlights on the car IMO.

I like it!

What happened to the orange wheels? They grew on me and now I kind of miss them.

What is everyones thoughts on the best options for colouring rims?

There is information about that powder coating can be effected by heat from the brakes etc around the rims. Is this the same with painting or are they both fairly stable?

I did a little research on shadow chromes and those very deep shiny black finishes, aka black chrome etc...
These finishes can also be powder coated, but it's very expensive.
I'd love to hear more info on these finishes (sprayed, 2 pak or powdercoated) from any experts out there!

Repainted MY06/07 tbSTI Enkeis

Bought these second hand, with a fair bit of gutter rash on them (2 wheels w/ rash, and 3rd wheel with a fair amount of paint chips)

Got them repainted in Subaru 36Y Onyz metallic, and this was done by Magman in Punchbowl (Sydney-based). Cost was $130 per rim (note this is cash/DD only)

Subtle colour changes in different light settings, in summary...
* In flouroscent/direct light (including sunlight) - imagine a colour mix of blue and gunmetal
* In indirect/softer light (ie. the afternoon shots) - becomes a darkish gunmetal grey

Digging up an old thread here, but just dropped off my brand new Rota GForce to the powder coaters to get coated the same as above. Also considered the Onyx Pearl and Charcoal Metallic Pearl, but thought both would be too dark on a black car with 20% tint.

Can't wait to get them back and fit them up now.

Hi,
Sorry To jump into this topic late. I am looking at powder coating my alloys and like the Steel Pearl satin dulux colour.
I was wondering with your Liberty which one was the steel pearl and were you happy with it?
I really love black chrome but nowhere will do it so am looking at a dark grey colour to go with my white car.
Thanks for your help :)

Quick request:

Anyone got a picture of a 07 spec.b wagon with spec.b rims painted/plastidipped/powder coated in black? So black on black.

I tried searching google images but hard to find this combo...

Cheers

HI Sym,
I have the same wheels with a little gutter rash. Does the $130 per wheel include fixing gutter rash. I am happy to keep the factory colour.
Thanks
Maxi
