Guys,

What someone previously said was that on his Generation 4 liberty it said "b4" on the plaque in his engine bay, this is the generation number.

My generation 1 liberty (1991) has "B1" written on it
our old generation 2 liberty (1997) has "B2" on it
our wreaked Gen3 liberty B4 (2002) had "b3"
our new gen4 liberty (2005) has "B4".

These state the generation build not the car model.

The actual model b4 (twin turbo) is the 3rd generation liberty.

they were called B4 for some reason i cant remember, but in Japan they called the gen4 a B4 too.

so dont get the generation build mixed with a Model of Liberty.

get it?

When speaking about the variant B4 refers to the awd with bilsten cars, there are turbo and non-turbo variants available in different countries, notably all badged "Legacy".. For the nooobis - We call the Legacy "Liberty" in oz out of respect for The Legacy Organisation..

As both Shane and Lance say, in australian vernacular, 'B4' refers to the 01-03 (Gen 3) AUDM cars which are all sedans and TT's. FYI the turbo wagon (GT and GT-B) was not released here between 96 and 04, in other words we missed both gen 2 turbos and gen 3 turbo wagons.. They dropped the badge here because of the horrible detonating de-tuning job and the questionable (nice imo) leather interior.
Gen1, Gen2, Gen3, Gen4.. No mods, honest...

Another B4 owner here. I have only had mine for a bit over a month and its already sending me broke! But I love it!

I have a Blue MY02 Manual with about 120k km on the clock. Only mods on it when I bought it was a 3" dumps back exhaust and a catch can.

Already bought a new set of Yokohama S-Drives and fitted EBC Redstuffs to the front and some QFM pads on the rear.

Plans for the next 12 months with it- Hyperflow CAI, Ecutek Stage 2 (been looking into other cheaper ecu options, but no-one likes the B4 it seems!) and possibly a walbro fuel pump. But I don't intend going much further with engine bits so Im not sure the fuel pump is really warranted.

Main reason for coming over to liberty.asn is that I joined Ozlib.com about 3 months ago and loved that site, but then they went and changed the entire forum engine and it now SUCKS.

Hopefully a few more b4 owners come onto these forums as I really like the layout and information avail.
