Good. I'll use it as encouragement for Matt to finish HYPO.

Tell Matt I found a pic of hypo with the old t03 vl bush bearing turbo, t04d 50 trim compressor and the ducted intake pipe on the front of it (ala 90's style) attached to the 4ze1 and the 4 speed. Was running 10's back then :)

You've seen what's going on it, haven't you?

No way on earth I'd drive the thing.

New 6266 on my fully built and ported 4ze1 bored/ stroked to 2850cc @ 35-38psi should make 500 plus rwkw no bottle in a 850kg car.

Comes down to box, rear end setup and driving

With those figures and the right alignment it will go 8.50 and 160mph plus

So let my mate take the car for a drive today

Came back with a suspected blown front diff

Clunking around corners and occasionally in straight line. Not driveshaft related

All good gives me the opportunity to look for a shimmed LSD

Build it, drive it, break it, rebuild it stronger
Same with anything when you go down a path like this

Sucks to hear Mick but as you said not a bad thing haha

Actually newbie - no. There is no reason why this would happen all the time

The only time this would happen is when the drivetrain is shock loaded. Shock loading in a manual can happen any time the clutch is depressed and released (depending on smooth : rough execution of clutch pedal) not just on a hard launch.

In an auto however, shock loading can pretty much only happen in two instances. Brake boosting on the Convertor, in which case the shock will be borne by the centre diff mostly.

Or coming into a gear hard whilst wheelspinning.

Autos are alot more forgiving in terms of punishment to the diffs because the clutch packs themselves and the piston drums/ Convertor absorbs alot of the brunt. Unlike a manual where prett much any time the clutch is fully released the force goes straight to the input shaft/ gears / output shaft and the diffs.

This was the result of silly driving from someone not well versed on how things work

I've taken my car to the drags many times and the track without a failure. That's because I know how to drive it and when I'm compromising things for no reason.

If the newl beefed up auto / centre diff failed in a controlled brake boost launch then I would be disappointed. However this was due to driver error over mechanical flaw / fault
