Haha, definitely in need of better pads.

I also had a melty result from the track day, turns out my muffler tip melted a hole in my bumper on one side.

It would be a good excuse for an upgrade except the bumper is one thing I don't want to upgrade.

Hmm bummer mate! But I'm guessing it was all worth it anyway. :D

It's funny, I've had a scratch/dent on my front bar since shortly after I got it. I've been hit twice since and neither time needed a new front bar. Bloody Murphy's laws.

Not yet definitively no - spoke to Nghi & Michael at Garage 88 today, going to look into getting a radiator upgrade and make sure fans kick in at a lower temp I think.

Next week will be getting the coolant system flushed and replaced with new coolant. Hopefully is not the start of a bigger issue - I don't think it is, everything is running fine since, coolant/engine temperature normal, no bubbling, oil looks normal and hasn't gone down at all etc. etc.

Gen V specific problem perhaps? Apparently Ricco had his coolant overflow as well while on a road cruise I believe.

Anyway will wait and see what happens.

How hot was it getting on track?

My temp was creeping up to 2/3 almost 3/4 if I was flat stick for more than 2.5 laps

I put this down to my fmic and trans cooler blocking some airflow , but I've had it suggested to me to make a shroud to direct remaining air through the radiator (via the grille) for track days.

I'll be looking into this. Didnt have this problem at last track day but with the current power output I think its increased my airflow requirement through the radiator

Engine temp or coolant?

One stupid thing I really hate about the Gen V is they don't even have a temperature gauge - how dumb is that.

I was at least monitoring everything on my phone with a bluetooth OBD adaptor and Torque or RaceChrono - so I know my coolant temp hit 119 degrees C a couple of times which is when I slowed down. Engine did not overheat though.

But it just seemed too high a coolant temp than I was comfortable with to keep pushing?

-1 to Hawk Ceramics.

Before I bought mine, I'd read a number of people say they would be "fine" for a few track days. Well I think we've proved them wrong!

Hawks are an ok daily pad, not track options........ trust me I learnt the hard way.

With my Brembo set up I used the Dixcel FS DAV heat treated slotted rotor all round with type z fronts and type m rears….. great daily set up and awesome on the track with a little heat.

You also can save your $$$$ and get the Dixcel RO1 pad and matching rotors for your current set up, this set up is on par if not a little better than a Brembo set up…….. Speak to Roody he’s using a similar set up.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

Thanks, I'll probably be getting the Dixcel FS and Z type pads.
