ive done my whole system and so on but when i turn off the car it still makes a weird sound. my McIntosh head unit's cd player was jammed and its making the same sound it was making as it was jammed. lol... anyone know why that is? doesn't really bother me but i dunno found it weird even with an after market head unit it still decides to do it.

What kind of sound is it?
What have you installed?
Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa
Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

The sound is like cds jamming up kinda...
Ive installed:
Pioneer AVH-X3500DAB CD/DVD Head unit
Apline Type S Sub
2 Amps Underneath each seat 1 mono and 1 4 channel
Focal v30 Splits for the front and matching coaxial for the rear.

I have a Pioneer deck, when I turn my car on it makes a sound that could be similar to what you're describing. All it might be is the unit searching for a loaded cd or DVD to start playing? I don't keep anything loaded in mine so it does it for about 20 seconds and stops.

yeah it might be that. just thought it was strange cos it did it with the mcintosh system and then to do it again with the pioneer head unit, kinda odd. lol

can anyone link me to a thread on how to remove the 8" sub from the parcel shelf. Ive taken off the grille (broke like 3 clips lol) but i can seem to get a screw driver in to unscrew it and ive got like tiny screw drivers lol. Is there an easier way to do it from the boot or does the whole parcel shelf need to come out to access the screws?

The whole rear seat has to come out. Pull up on the bench.
4 bolts hold the back of the rear seat down. Once these bolts are removed, you must slide the whole back upwards as there are locking pins near the top.
Once all of that has been done, you need to remove the C Pillar trim (be careful of any curtain airbags if fitted).
Then you can remove the parcel shelf to access the sub.
Enjoy.
