2010 Gen V Audio Upgrades

Postby Doodz » Sat Aug 17, 2013 1:16 am

Was wondering if any one has done any modifications to the macintosh system, like change OEM screen to an aftermarket screen, boot install with sub, amplifier and speakers. And any pictures of the install??? or maybe point me in the right directions. I know about the hack for the current screen and nav system already but have recently got a 2010 Liberty GT premium and there is very little information or mods on the audio system for theses cars anywhere including the legacy forums.

Look forward to hearing some feedback....

Where are u located??

My system is a pure audio only system. Stealth install completely tuned to my "likes".

Don't have photos on my phone though.

Ive found an old post i posted a while back.
Here's the sound deadening i did myself.

The full install was done by Marty and the boys at FHRX

Before anything goes, i can tell you "INSTALLATION" matters. Its by far the most important aspect. Gear is nothing without a TOP install

Andy

Im in Perth. I have a mate who owns an audio shop here and has done every install in all my cars. Its a bit like a mechanic, if you want quality you have to find a awesome installer. The problem is not so much an installer but there is very little people that have done any modifications on the Gen V's. I am waiting on my mate to talk to a mate of his in queensland who has apparently done a few so will see what he comes back. Am more curious than anything else to see the results.

If not there is nothing wrong with experimenting. haha

Otherwise your install is sweet. Gotta be happy with that.

Thanks for your help :)

Hey Doodz,

any update on the gen v audio upgrade? Ive got a MY10 prem wagon w/ sat nav (not mcintosh system) and am looking into a sub ran by seperate mono amp. Thinking about building a stealth box for the boot. Any Thoughts, recommendations?

That was in my old TB by STI. My Gen 5 is standard except for Nav hack and Subaru iPod cable.
