Show off what mods you've done to your car.

oh you gotta love that. Nothing like it when the turbo spools and the car is pushing you in the back.

So I would assume an exhaust change, say going to 3" pipe work all round but use stock mufflers, decent dump pipe, spray kit and retune would net me close to 165-175kwatw roughly? How did MSR put it to you that he could get that type of power those minimal mods? Im all for getting the most out of the current system, but it does seem hard to believe.

Well its a pretty standard result from those mods. Dump pipe, 3" exhaust, turbo inlet, and BOV (not essential but a good idea if running higher boost). Those mods got me 181kw and stock mufflers only cost you around 5kw. So 175kw sounds about right. The TMIC spray isnt going to improve your peak power, but it will just help keep it cool which will allow you to keep your car running at its peak.

What is the 'turbo inlet' you speak of? Is that like a mod? Sorry for the noob question.

Dont say sorry.. thats what the forums for :D

Turbo inlet is the large diameter hose that runs from your air filter box to your turbo inlet (pictured below). The stock inlet is weak and can collapse under pressure. The turbo inlet maintains diameter and improves spool time by about 200rpm. Plus it gives the car that turbo spool whistle sound - not obsene, just a semi subtle whistle.

I got mine from MSR. But its a Pro Speed Racing inlet. You can order them directly from PSR. Perrin sell them as well. Will cost you around $250-$300 for both hoses - its made up of 2 hoses.

I wouldnt attempt installing it yourself though as its incredibly hard and aparently easy to do damage. People have done it themselves and succeeded but id pay someone to do it.

I'm still running stock mufflers and I got to 200kw.
The rear muffler upgrades really don't make much extra power, only heaps more noise.
If I were to upgrade my mufflers and retune now, I would only expect a 4 - 6kw gain at 6500rpm.
Majority of the power gain is in the dump pipe and then the centre and Y pipe.

Thanks Adam, but I might look into the Kobe ones that rooby put up a link for. Ive dealt with JacksGTB before and have been satisfied with his service.

Thing is Im not sure if Jack supplies the silicone pipes for the TMIC which is the one I really want to replace.
