Sluggish!

Postby bosc0 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 7:07 am

The last two days my wagon has seemed a little sluggish on boost, mainly low down. Seems to be a little choked, but doesn't break down or hesitate.
Nothing has been changed aside from giving it a wash after months and i also threw on a Prova airguide :|

As i don't have much time to stuff around with this bitch, what would you be looking at?

Reset ECU
Check vac lines (although doesn't stall)
Check exhaust & up pipe for cracks (stupid low car)
Check turbo actuator circlip
Clean MAF
Log ECU
Have filled up with BP yesterday, might have had a bad batch of V-power?
Drop it off at Cromwood.

Your turn.

I think if you exhaust all those options and it hasn't stopped you should redo the last option.

A good thrash up the mountains,
It'll either clear it out or blow it up.
But will be fun either way. :D

But as above, plug it in and see what that ECU is pulling
timing or fuel will point you in the right direction

Let me drop in a spare passenger side OCV, reset ECU, fill the tank, do the aforementioned mountain run w/ logging, 30 min work.

BBB,
what sort of oils being used and service intervals are we seeing in relation to the blocked OCV's

Wondering if the stupid 12,500km intervals are leading to the blockages.
and whether the fancy oils are causing gumming/ clogging up.
would be interesting to see if running the diesel oils (Delvac, Magnatec Diesel) will free them up

Will do some logging and a reset with you soon yo, thanks.
But brand new OCV's are waiting at my uncles house in the US.

Feels turbo related to me, whether it be a leak or blockage. Noticed a dint in my Y pipe the other day, but don't think it's enough to cause any issues.

Nah it's more of a dint then a dent.

I'll just give the whole thing a kick and see if it sorts itself out.

What's the idle like?
"If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."

Pretty good, although there has always been a slight hesitation at idle that doesn't register on the tachometer. I've put this down to the OCV's, time will tell.
