Fuel Consumption on 3.0

Postby OOB40 » Sun Oct 22, 2006 5:54 pm

I have almost 28000km on my MY05 3.0R Spec B 6 speed. I'm wondering how many kays people are getting on a full tank. I get about 400-420km before my fuel light comes on. Is that normal?

My fuel light comes on at about 470 to 520 kays, ill get 550 out of a tank comfortably with not much spirited driving, if i get up it a bit ill be happy with 480 to 500.

I took the car for a raz through some twisties on friday and got consumption up to average 15l/100kms lol, now im trying to get it back down to about 11.

I'm getting about 500km per tank, so the fuel light comes on about 430km
Just drove from Melbourne to Adelaide yesterday, and was on track to get 720km out of the tank, but the wife paniced and made me fill up at Murray Bridge.

thats a solid effort mate, the h6 are very economical on the open road, i found my car getting 760 out of a tank on the way to and from coffs harbour.

I'm on par with you Nic, 400 is about it around town. If I head to my parents place though (200km round trip) I can do that on a third of a tank. I do get a bit throttle happy though, about 90% of the time

Best I've seen from a tank was 550 to the fuel light (Goulburn - Walcha), engine only had 4000km on it then though...

City driving gets me around 14l/100km (corrected) which is about 1-1.5l/100 better than when new. So I get about 420km or so before fills, with still 50-60 left.

Brisk country driving nets 10 l/100km, gentle cruising 9 or so.

my one is drinking like there is no tomorrow. Normal city driving uses between 15.8 to 16.1 l/100 km. It reached up to 16.8 a few days ago. Highway driving doesn't improve things that much, it still uses 14.0L/100.
When i was breaking in the engine, it managed to use 20L/100. Basically half of the tank was gone after 2 days. Currently i am lucky to get 400km out of the tank.
