disable alarm on 98 liberty

Hello all. I have lost my remote for my 1998 liberty and I can't figure how to disable the alarm. I have the key which is just an ordinary one. The alarm may be after market as there is no sticker near the battery. It is the type that if I leave the key in the ignition then I get locked out. I have looked in google and tried different suggestions none of which work. I have sat in the boot gone around the car 7 times making hindu chants, nothing works. Any constructive suggestions? Thanks

My gen 2 had an alarm fitted too. Just made life hard, took me an hour to rip it out and return all the wiring to standard with heat shrink etc. There's wiring diagrams floating around the internet if you want to try and take it out yourself.
