Like to see a 1/4 wave resonator if it drones, doing the research on those, intriguing stuff ;)
They're an alternative to, or used in conjuction with, a Center muff...

Whoa, getting into the serious black art there! Is it just an additional muffler by another name so they can charge you more for it? Drone is easily removed from our vehicles by increasing the dimensions of the front muffler/resonator. At the moment, I am not sure if I have any drone yet as it is still in the workshop.

Hope to get a video/sound recording today and take it for a run on the hwy/fwy to check for drone.

Stay tuned! No really, stay tuned, and watch this thread for an update!

I'll dig up a link, but basically it's a closed end 2.5" pipe 3&1/2ish feet long that runs from a diverter join on the mid pipe. Cancels frequencies w/o any reduction of flow. ;)

First drive a few moments ago! Too raspy on WOT. Going to expand the front muffler to a nice oval if it will fit.

Well, not happy with the sound at the moment, but I will drive it around for a week to see if it starts to get better. Pick the car up later today and the drive home on the fwy/hwy will give me a better indication. Will garner several opinions on Sunday, no doubt.

I have made a reservation for next week in case I am still not comfortable with the sound. Tried the stock rear mufflers this arvo and they are definitely quite as pie on idle, but the raspiness is much worse on WOT than the Hitech Mufflers, so the Hitech's are back on the car for the week.

Sound Pressure level at 1m and 45 degree angle was 87 dba. 90 dba is the limit so it will attract too much attention from my perspective and not really staying within the sleeper profile. My gut instincts tell me that some larger rear mufflers and front muffler may both be needed, but we will wait and see.

Together we could make really pedantic babies. Pity there's too little room for love making in our sedans.

Loving the build detail.

Well, the drive home tonight was just a light cruise on the fwy and hwy, then winding through the burbs to get fuel, and back through them to home. No drone at hwy speed, in fact almost quieter than idle inside the car, but definitely louder than before! Loving the H6 burble off throttle. I can hear it now in all the down shifts and when idling through roundabouts.

Did another sound pressure test this afternoon and it is right on the threshold at 3600 rpm, so a new larger front muffler will have to come.

If that does not do it, then will gut the stock rear mufflers and rebuild them internally with 2.5 inch straight through with glass pack fill. About 3 to 4 hours of labour and materials, but it will definitely fall well within the sound pressure level requirements, preserve the flow and meet my sleeper profile needs.

The new front muffler will start next week with the car booked in for Thursday. It will comprise a 3-inch in/out oval 18x9x4-inch stainless muffler with a custom 3-inch centre to replace the xForce version. The xForce Y pipe will be retained for the moment along with the Hitech Mufflers.

Now, for the rest of the weekend, log, log, log on the new ECU image.

I may have forgot to mention, just one little issue we experienced on 1st start after the install. I captured a little video:

Anyway, all good afterward and No CEL codes for the new front Y section and CATS!

So, it was not all bad news.
