When I get the rims on I will obviously be taking photos and posting them so I am wondering what I should have in the back ground.... Options are:
1. Burnt down house in Aboriginal mission.
2. Aboriginal mission in it's natural state.
3. Old railway bridge
4. Cotton Ginn with about 20-30million worth of cotton in the fields.
5. Old rusty windmill

Nominate a location (I'm in country NSW) so a beach is a no go.

Lol won't really highlight the car as it's white v white and all the cotton fields have been harvested

I can also take it infront of an old windmill?

I meant that any wide open horizon/featureless background is a good thing and provides plenty of flexibility as regards composition eg negative space vs subject.

It sounds like you have plenty of good options for locations.

To crap-on somewhat: ;)
Don't forget the quality of the light eg catching some lens flare at dawn or dusk, shooting into the light.
And natural or artificial fill to light the dark rims and even out the shadows.
With compositions that include a counterpoint eg windmill etc. you can leverage your lens choices, wide or tele, plus the subject/s to camera distances to change the relationships of the pictorial elements.
Generally going wide will shrink background elements and going long will do the opposite.

I'm in central nsw, we have one train platform can't get a car onto it... There is one place that I really want to take some photos as it's lit by flood lights of a night looks fucking awesome but it's always locked of a night. I have thought about asking them will try next time I'm on duty...

BBB, you have high expectations of me I will try to do my best.

It doesnt have to be a train station.. just something only a policeman can get the car too.. just something small like shutting down the pacific highway at some point to use as your personal skid pan

Hmmm I'll try and shut down the highway but really I don't need too of a night there is next to no cars on it.

Coyote... There isn't even enough room to park a truck out the back of my station let alone do burnouts.

I chose the old rusty windmill option.

I havent seen any pics of cars with this setting before, so it will be unique to see.
Cheers

I really like beach settings for car photos.. for you somewhere around the foreshore in newcastle might be nice. Do they still have that skate park covered in graphiti near newcastle beach? Might be a cool back drop with the beach behind the skate park.

Or maybe somewhere in honeysuckle or maryville area.. an old warehouse would make a good photo.. especially if you could get inside one.

Don't be soft. I once dared Possum Bourne to do helis in front of the podium at Coffs Harbour in a space barely big enough to park 4 cars. He smiled, shook his head and laughed. Then he lit them up.

Last week marked the 10th anniversary of his passing.
