As I said, the highmount tail light creates the most rattle due to it hitting the rear window. The trim is the next in line. The actual parcel shelf (metal below the trim) is quite solid and doesn't really require any dynamat.

I'm talking from experience here as my parcel shelf TRIM has 3 layers of dynamat and the highmount brake light has a foam strip preventing it from hitting the rear window.

If I hold the brake light down the sound changes but its still there I'm tearing it apart tomorrow I guess we'll see what happens

I found the problem to mine - it is the parcel shelf brake light and holding it down does reduce the vibration, however this is not a solution.

Open your boot and locate the plastic hook on the bottom of the brake light which attaches it to the parcel shelf. This is in the centre of the boot on the roof, about 15cm in.
Push the plastic clip towards the front of the car - this will tighten the space between the parcel shelf and brake light housing - vibration should stop.

So I think the solution is to wedge something in there between the plastic hook and metal parcel shelf frame.
