I'm be keen for another group buy. Finally pulled out my stereo and am confident that the GROM-USB2P-SUB08 will work in my McIntosh PF-2551i

You sure that model number will work with the grom??? It does not appear on their list of models that work with it
wavetech wrote:Hi All,
Took longer to get our hands on a MY08 radio than first thought, but we have finally done some tests.
We have confirmed the Anycar Link (at this time) is not compatible with MY08 McIntosh radio systems.
However, we have also confirmed that the Grom Audio unit is compatible with the MY08 McIntosh radio systems.
The Grom unit uses a different connector (rectangle connector pictured below)
as apposed to the Anycar (square connector pictured below)
Up to now, we thought only the Kenwood Subaru models used the larger rectangle connector.
It appears MY08 McIntosh radio's contain both connectors (Square & Rectangle styles)
We have also seen an older McIntosh radio (#PF-4062I) with both connectors (on this unit, both Anycar & Grom devices worked)
I therefore think it would be safe to assume that if your McIntosh/Kenwood radio has both connectors, or just the larger rectangle connector - the Grom unit should work.
In these models, they probably have made the smaller square connector to run optional nav systems or something like that, and therefore added the larger rectangle connector to run an optional CD changer (the Anycar & Grom units "simulate" a CD changer) and this is why the Grom unit works.
You can view the Grom Subaru unit here: http://www.anycarlink.co.nz/GROM-IPD3-SUB.html
At present, we only have an iPod/iPhone only unit. (with optional add-ons for Bluetooth & AUX-In)
Thank you,
Matt
