I agree lets do it

Im thinking of at least 1 or 2 night stay cause most people will have to travel
Lets get some ideas together then have a poll.
so post your thoughts (brain storm) & include why you think its a good venue, my initial thoughts are to hold it in NSW or ACT but where??
Im thinking of staying a night or 2 in the Hunter Vineyards,
lots of great windy roads out the back of Cessnock
    Picturesque
we can drink & not have to drive home
Its reasonably central for the east coast
Or another thought for a location would be in Port Macquarie

& lets give this meet a name

I propose will have a LibertyNats, just like Foznats (forester nats) last year in Canberra. kevin was one of the organisers.

They had the following events all in one weekend
Federal Tyres Skid pan Challenge
Meguiars Show'n'Shine + photo shoot
Shannon's FozNats Cruise
Ultimate Tune Dyno Challenge (for those who enter this event it is an Extra $50 per car) but spectators get to see all as part of rego.
Fantasy Lane Twilight Tour
Sound Off
Motorkhana
Awards and Charity Auction Dinner.

Also, to top it off, we should get Club Legacy Magazine from Japan to come down to take a photoshoot for their magazine, just like LegacyGT did with this

Sounds like a top idea but these things really do take a lot of time and effort to plan and organise. You have to be dedicated to get it up and running and you also need the commitment and support of the people that are 'keen' to go along and also expect to have people drop out at the last minute for whatever reason (or none).

We had a group of about 6 or so core people involved in the ACT Foznats meet up and some added help from GTRydaz admin and mods/members that had organised previous meet ups.

I am heading up to a GTRydaz "mini" meet first weekend in May and there will be about 60 odd cars attending. One day event, mostly Sydney locals - breakfast, cruise, lunch and then all head off home. I am also travelling up to the Gold Coast for another meet that is planned for June, it's a "major" meet - in that it will be held from Friday to Sunday (I am spending more time up there of course), accomodation place is organised and so are events like Dyno, cruise, paddock bash motorkahna, dinners etc etc.

Can be great events and I encourage you guys to think about it seriously.

Cheers,
Kev

Hey Guys,

+1 for idea. I think the Idea is cool. I think A good place to go is Wollongong. because of its many good beaches. Maybe somewhere further down the coast. Although it might get hot, you turbo boys wont like that.

I am really looking forward to a huge aussie meet up of liberties, hopefully I can have some more mods finished on my car before this comes along. I will keep an eye out for this one.

Newcastle would also be a good place to have the gathering. Maybe near Forster or somewhere like that. although again the Turbo boys won't like the warm coastal air.

Anywhere should be fine....

Our cars are way nicer than those in the SoCal meetup. At least we can unite and be 4th gens only... without the tackiness of the American wannabe-JDM look... hehe

Good idea.. not far from Port Mac there's a super sweet park that's also a wakeboarding venue..

http://www.stoneypark.com.au/

Accommodation is well priced, there's HEAPS of room and then there's the wakeboarding!!!

Have stayed there and it would be AWESOME for an event such as this, if they would allow it.

Although I don't know of motorsport venues close by? Skidpan, track day etc?

Port mac also has a real Go-Kart track that is regularly used for professional race meets & has FAST hire karts.

Accommodation, There is heaps of it with prices starting from the budget to the High Class. & I'm sure there are heaps of great drives in the surrounding hills :D
