Clutch take up point

Hey all,

Just wondering, from what point on your clutch pedal does your clutch start to grip? I had my clutch replaced less than a year ago but it feels like the take up point is much higher than from when it was first replaced. Is it adjustable? Does a high take up point indicate that it's worn? I'd like it to grip right from the bottom.
