Hey Mark,

Thanks for the heads up and sorry to hear about the problems you've been experiencing. Hopefully, they can be sorted with minimum fuss.

I'm wrapped about the generated feedback though and makes you think twice.

Hey Des,

I had nothing but adulation for Matt on the initial tune, it was perfect IMO.

But once theres an issue and the back up service is non existant or even a simple response to you messages doesnt happen, one starts to wonder.

It really seems he's just in it for the initial cash grab......

It would be a great idea to make sure you look after members that are trusted amongst community. If you don't, things will go downhill faster then a bricked ECU.

That's it mate. Not many more with a higher profile then Mark. Everyone knows how well he conducts himself with his transactions.

Have you heard from him since? I got an email with a revision last night. Managed to kill my battery last night (luckily not while writing to the ECU  ) so I haven't really given it any proper testing yet, but drove into the city this morning for an onsite and it seemed OK... in rush hour traffic.... at somewhere between 20 - 40km/h :(

Hows the new tune going? Do you know when Matt is due back in SA? I got the 3 port solenoid as he asked so I want to make sure the tune is spot on when sets up the revision.
Cheers

Not a word......

I guess he hopes the issues will just go away if he ignores them.

And to think I was adamant about giving him $50 on the retune for his time.....

Glad i questioned this on the original "Learning View Snapshots \ Discussions" thread at the start of the year... I would have been booked in for this (supposed) Adelaide trip. Got an alternative hopefully now though.

I seriously hope all you guys get your tunes fixed up and at the least get your money back (no amount of money can pay for your time and stress). I own my own business and this is terrible customer service, I've seen this done by other businesses and they are purely in it for the quick $ and just don't want to give you the time you deserve afterwards.

Tunes to what he thinks is best, not to what you actually ask for.
I had a near miss accident when my car went into limp when pulling into flowing 70km/h traffic. I was only on half throttle, didnt even floor it.....
PM'd Matt, PM has been read, no response.
Very poor form, although he was happy to take the money.

Not read actually, check your outbox where your messages will still be not in the 'Sent' box since they are unread.

Your P0607 code issue: https://forums.cobbtuning.com/forums/sh ... ance/page2

Seen it on stock cars and tuned. So has a lot of tuners ;) Hence why the code was turned off.

WOW.... Mark!!! Some big calls you have made over the last few pages. That must have been a hard thing for you to say as I don't ever really see you saying bad things about people!!

I have been tuned by Matt and the car went much better. Wouldn't say it went faster but it was nicer to drive. I am finding some surging issues that seem to go away with a battery disconnect and maf clean. Then rear up some 1-2 weeks later!! :?:

Overall I'm happy with the tune and he did unlock it and made it a nicer car to drive..... BUT!! If the customer service is not there then it makes it a bit of a pointless situation.

I thank him for the tune, but I will be going back to my mechanic of 10years who will take it going further as he has proven himself over a LONG time with great customer service . And that is what the difference is between a good tuner and a great tuner. Reliability and service !!

Good luck with your car and I hope you get it sorted .
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??

A classic example of pulled timing due to knocking which goes away temporarily after an ECU reset due all learned parameters that are protecting the engine being removed.

I wouldn't be resetting the ECU with the battery disconnect. Your engine is trying to save itself from knocking. Shows up in surging, stutters etc once it pulls the timing out of those load areas.

MAF cleaning is probably only required every 5000kms unless you're driving on very dusty roads.

I'd be getting the tune checked by someone local like dr20t or Rome etc to confirm everything is OK.

We suspect it has something to do with throttle maps or boost maps.

The early LGT 2.0L got a LOT of revisions from Subaru as they also had the P0607 in some cars(Factory Service Bulletin) so for example, A2WD010T had a revision, A2WD011T and then a subsequent revision, A2WD012T. I loaded the latest A2WD012T ROM as Subaru reportedly fixed issues. I have sent through the original ROM but in tuned form.

Mark/CRUISN's car also had factory revisions, 4 in fact. His is still on the factory ROM image, no ROM update was applied. Since his was the 'last' of the updates from factory.

How do you explain why this is happening only after you've tuned them? A lot of these cars have been running fine with their ECU's not being revised by Subaru but seem to start throwing CELs once tuned. Mark's car (cruisn), Tony's car(ynot87) and Zach etc..

Perhaps your tune is reverting back Subaru fixes for P0607?

3 guys on this forum had me tune their car AFTER getting the code whent their car was stock... see the cobb link where people had the code thrown when car was in stock standard form? ;) Zach went months without issue and then the code is thrown. Even the one tuned on the weekend was fine for the first few runs.

The ECU logic is untouched since it is not a table ;)
