Did you change avcs solenoid?

Also have you checked the pin outs for avcs on the ecu itself?

So the good news....besides this problem the car is healthy and doing well....starts up well, drives well, no weird noises and hardly any piston slap upon start up which is a bonus 8)

So the issue so far is erratic changes between left and right AVCS during light load...( no CEL's pop up )

Whats weird is inconsistently they will be in sync and show no problem...but then the left one steps out....and on other hand it's the right that steps out....

Phil and Danny removed the solenoids, cleaned them, tried other ones, swapped them, checked them, checked oil lines, tried the solenoids off the car and they work fine

Getting some left and right cam gear sensors tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem, will be checking some other area's within the car again to make sure nothing has been missed

I'll be in touch...

Keen to see what the fix is!
On my car, one side is a little off, which becomes a major oscillation when in cruise.

Hope the cam gear sensors do the trick, frustrating indeed!

hey justin

it's good its running.....that sucks about the avcs....can they advance the timming at all? because when i had issues with the triggers being out, the ecu needs to read "0" degrees before advancing.....One of my kelfords was "9"degrees out & "4", from memory....so MSR had to modify them to read be set at "0"....

its prob not same issue but i thought I's give you a heads up :)

UPDATE:

Slight progress on my AVCS issue.....after further investigation and so many trials and errors the following has been done

1/ new L and R cam sensors - made little difference
2/ oil pressure checked
3/ measured voltage values / changes / ohms / misc to make sure wiring and connections are good, visual inspection on cables / connections
4/ existing solenoids swapped L and R - made no difference
5/ connections to one of the solenoids looked to be slightly dodgy / and the buckets? I think that's what they are called...had some junk and gunk in it
6/ got another solenoid unit - made a difference but still out slightly... but at most of the time its fine....only does it on slight load but randomly....idle is fine ( both at 0 )
7/ moved the new solenoid - and the improvement moved....so....awaiting on some new solenoids and let's see what happens...

Here is a example of a dyno trial run done today in this hot whether......car was making over 200kw @ 13/14 psi on one run and this one posted is nothing to go by but Danny wanted to show me its progress....car wasn't pushed or loaded up...and remember this is a run in tune...

But car sounds good, starts fine, idles fine and I'm hoping to get her back soon *cross fingers* .....if not, then looks like more car parts apart and will work from there.... :(
