How does power compare to the legnum?

This is far more brutal / fun when boost kicks in. There is nothing like a power skid at 80+ kph which just can't be had in AWD. That being said the legnum was quicker 0-60kph, but XR6 would eat the legnum down the 1/4

That was something I noticed with the Lib compared to the s/c powered AU. The lib just gets up to the limit real quick. But the AU would rape it in its current state well over the 100km mark. I'd still prefer the quicker 0-60km times though. Can still do this legally on the roads which to me is what matters on the street.

I agree Shav - if the Legnum & liberty were still comfortable for me to drive, I would still be in either one of them. But unfortunately I just could get comfortable in the drivers seat of either the Liberty or VR4 for anything more than about 45-60 mins of driving.

That and I think my skid loving inner bogan comes out every now and then

That being said, I had a run with a 2JZ aristo one morning, and when stalling it propperly off the line, the thing took off like a shower of shit! I dont have a boost gauge but guessing I had at around 2-3psi off the line.

Well the 2JZ won as I only had 235's on at that time (and balding ones at that) and I left the line in a flurry of wheelspin and didnt peg it back... thus the decision to go 275's on the rear  It shouldnt happen again

haha, I know what you mean fella. RWD skids are pretty fun. Maybe Im getting old, but I still prefer the grip of the AWD over RWD, but when modded, the RWD is still a lot of fun. You're pretty tall too and these little jap cars just werent made for tall people. You gotta do whats best for you in the end. Loved my Fords when I had them, but the quality of the Jap cars is just something else. I may own another Ford (turbo of some kind) in the future but only as a weekend toy. The Subaru just suits my day to day needs perfectly and I still get comments of how classy the car looks.

Pretty decent effort taking on one of those. You gotta have decent power to tackle the likes of that. And yes, grip is king. Love the 6T's but they are a license destroyer, and I need my license for work.

That was the first and only run i've had on the street - as like you I need my license (driving around the state quite regularly). and the only reason I did? was 4:30am, on a weekday morning in zone with decent speed limit so license was never in jeopardy ;)

I've enjoyed having AWD cars for the last 5 years, and just wanted to get back to RWD for a while... bit like you did switching AWD/RWD/AWD - at the end of the day, the grass is always greener and you want back what you had previously I reckon

oh dont say that to me now mate. My mrs is still livid from when I sold the wagon all those year ago. lol. Na I dont think I'll go back to another Ford as a daily unless finances were to take a big tumble. One thing I did notice is the way AWD and RWD drives in comparison to each other. I have found I have had to almost relearn how the AWD handles again. That said, I came from a modified RWD to a stock AWD so there was some teething to be had regardless.

Still a taxi, albeit a quick one. :P

Dont fall into the common Ford/Commodore mod frame of mind, powah, powah, powah and still leave the stock brakes on it. Some handling mods wouldnt go astray either.

Brembos are CHEAP for these things.

Now why on earth would I want to stop!! that's just boring :ninja:

I've fitted slotted rotors and high temp pads which has notably improved braking, but honestly, where are these Cheap Brembo's you speak of? I've found no such cheap brakes.
