I installed an Ultrex front strut brace this morning.

For the price of the brace, its a pretty good bit of kit and one worth looking at Newbie

Nothing wrong with painting the brace grey/silver and sticking an STi sticker on it
No one will know the difference at first sight

I would stick with cusco etc personally. there tough as nails.

I have had 2 ultrex braces, and i could twist, and snap them with my hands, that was admittedly 2 years ago, so they may have changed there manufacturing in china since then.

Current Gen4 Ultrex brace is pretty much a copy of the STi one and as solid as the the Cusco one I have in my Outback.

STi genome ftw - old skool, rather rigid, slightest trim req'd to 1 rear corner of the engine cover.
Hang in, FSB's come up all the time, get a nice one for WBO every time you lift the lid.

Thanks guys will do really like the look of the stock sti ones! I think I will wait for a mint one to come up

But the ultrex ones are cheap too ! And look rather nice

I got a cusco one with brake stopper on sat from g88 cause I missed Jim's and Dan's sales so went the cusco bling

Just over 300 for the brace with the brakestopper
Not bad for new I uguess when ppl want 300 for a used sti one
I only wanted the stopper but nothing like a bit of bling as well lol

Edit : pritty sure phat has the normal cusco brace with out the stopper for $100 less as well
