Jokes aside, I think Ain you're pretty special amongst the Kido and Matt tuned cars in that you actually visited Bryce on a few ocassions and your car was logged with a wideband AFR sensor and gauge to dial in your MAF, and the rest of the tune.

Bryce held your hand through the whole process and the outlay was half the normal fee.

So you're really in a win - win situation.

You got a proper wideband logged tune at half price. :)

Good work on pouncing on that offer when you did. You've done well..

The rest of the punters who go by the airport and spend the hour with Matt are not in the same position. They don't have contact with Bryce or Matt following the tune and have no way of examining the affects in the ECU on the tune. They aren't equipped with the tech or the nouse.

So they drive and go wow this feels so good in 5th. A comment I hear regularly till you log the car and you see them hit 22+ psi.

From my experience I've learnt a lot. I know Matt can tune but these fly in fly out tunes combined with limited contact with his busy home life and popularity are seeing a number of people, 3 this week, come over for me to log their car and confirm they're OK.

Why aren't they going straight to Matt. Because they have to wait 2 weeks for an email reply if they get one.

I'm thinking this...

Unless Matt can change the package he is offering. I believe from what i am hearing and reading, that the only drawback and worry is that there isn't much easy service afterwards.

In my experience Matt usually replies within a day to a question, or if you need a revision takes a few days. It varies, can be quick. At least I know I'll definitely get a reply eventually. So a few weeks is a bit of an exaggerated number!

On the other hand I want to see if we can get the actual tune up to scratch.

Picking up my car tmr noon :) post LV then.

Anyway lets try keep this on topic fellas maybe let's start a new thread for tuning comparisons and feedback

Justin bigger turbo = less backpressure, lower egt, greater volumetric efficiency and therefore better economy all things being equal. Although we all know people with bigger turbos aren't going to keep the status quo for "all things being equal" ;)

I believe Matt is a good tuner but has made some mistakes. He does spread himself thin but tries to do his bit. We're human. And I'd like to think he will do the right thing and try to correct any errors. But you can't always blame the tune everytime something goes wrong. Anyway I'll give my full thoughts in the other thread I might create.

As always mick? Thanks for the insight on the bigger turbo quantification :)

WTF you have a bigger turbo and don't know the bigger turbo quantification theory?

Shame on you..

Definitely mechanical.

Vacuum leak for sure

Af correction at low load and knock at low load / engine speed indicates lean out and thus knock

Don't vaccum leak cars normally show a positive number in the first AF Learning range (idle and putt putt) due to more air entering the intake after the MAF causing fueling adjusting up at the MAP sensor?

I thought that was a tell tale sign.
