Hks evc is in my opinion better placed to hold flat boost and control super accurately

The stepper motor is fantastic and especially with my external gate is more suited to control boost

The easy writer is a programme/ cable that allows complete tunability over the boost curve

It allows us to taper boost off at higher rpm where the turbo may not be as efficient at that boost level

Eg 22psi on rome's turbo might be good at 5500 rpm but not at 7000 where it may run out of puff

Can I ask what sort of boost you guys are running and what sort of over boost was being experienced?

21 psi which sometimes spikes to 23 psi during gear shift or fourth gear wot (never happens on the street)

Jerome your car isn't boost cutting in first - it's hitting the rev limiter and not shifting

I heard what you were talking about last time you have confused it with rev soft cut (fuel cut)

Yeh I know, I got past thinking it was boost cut, but didn't we hypothesise that the reason it is hitting the rev limiter because there is too much boost and it is revving out too fast?? This makes sense because if I run low boost which is 18.3, I can manage to shift it myself and not experience this issue, but just can't do that on the high boost setting no matter what I try, especially when boost launching the car.

And mine is the same, high boost is 20.4psi, spikes to 23 during gear shifts

I don't have boost spike issues as I'm a manual! Please keep us informed of the easy writer progress!! I'm interested to see how it goes as my cars running out of puff up top from what I've been told

shifting the auto manually you will need to keep track of the rpm you request shift and then actual shift rpm.
you may have to hit the button at 5000 rpm for it to shift at 6600.

I've tried it all, I've tried shifting it at 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, let it shift itself, left it in auto. When running the high boost setting and boost launching the car, it will hit the rev limiter in 1st no matter what I do :(

Came up against an S15 on Tuesday night. As you know it was quite a hot night. Of course, it was a completely private road

Long story short, he couldn't believe I pulled away from him. He asked what I had done to my car...of course my answer was "It's stock, honest!"

Haha not yet! Probably not ever with this lib. Won't be going manual until I move on to another car!
