The weight of wheels

Postby Sh4wry » Wed Nov 28, 2012 8:58 am

Just wondering if anyone out there has weighed their wheels before putting rubber on them...

Specifically I'm after the difference between:

TbSTI Enkei 06/08:

Stock gt-b:

Ultrex:

Kg/wheel if anyone knows.

Cheers,
Shawry.

When I shipped my post facelift gt-b rims they were between 12 & 13 kg boxed. So I guess about 12kg each without tyres.

I would have thought the enkei would be lighter.

According to http://www.wheelweights.net/wheel-weight-weight.xls

I found the following:

Subaru Legacy Spec B 06 Cast 18x7 8.1646632 kg

If I assume an 06 Spec B Legacy is still the same as a pre faceilft AUDM LIberty , then that claimed weight is not so bad compared to a lot of other 18x7s , and it is lighter than more half of the 18 x 7.5 rims in the same list.
