+1.
I don't recall ever in my life washing my car when it was running. Or even wanting to.

My unprofessional opinion is switch off car when washing.

There are lots of delicate electronics which could be damaged by a short caused by water.

Ask anyone of the guys who have replaced their internal lights with led lights (of the same power rating).

Does anyone have a legit reason for turning your car off while washing it? Aside from wasting fuel....

I jump started my car before washing it once. My battery was flat and didn't have enough power to blast the music.

I turned my headlights off first though, so can't help with your problem.

The heat from the engine will cause water spots on the bonnet.

After making sure that the car is running, make sure your doors are wide ajar too!
