Because your car is too good. We can't have proper cars go as we will all just feel depressed about our own cars

This colour looks great! So how much vinyl did you buy and what were the hardest parts to do? i tired to the turbo bonnet scoop before in just one piece and that was next to impossible. what was the hardest section for you? Was it easy to remove the door handles? My paint is so bad i need to do something to cover it up! I was thinking of dong mine but cant decide on color

thanks dan!
bought a 50 ft roll, its 5ft wide (just wide enough for bonnet luckily!!) and that was enough to do it all with a little bit to spare.. i measured everything out and pre-cut shapes before i started haha
removing door handles was a bit painful, had to get at them from the inside and wasn't the easiest process
door handles were rather tricky, as was the front grille i have on. only other complicated parts would be the rear bumper sections just below the taillights where it bends in and up, and the boot as well. having done it once now i'd definitely do a better job next time

I think I have found me a new diy project! My only problem is i think would be doing this mostly outdoors. Over the space of a few weeks with the amount of free time I get! I wonder what matt black would look like. Is there any grain or that they this vinyl or would you not notice if you applied it in two different directions if that makes sense! Different climate here so I have wonder how durable it is.

eh matte black has been done to death
on a liberty...this guy in the states did it matte black i know that much
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.p ... 39713.html

on this one theres no grain / direction to it. 3M make a brushed metallic finished one as well (in a few greys/silvers) though which have a definite grain running through them
supposed to be rated fairly well for durability in weather, i think something like 5-7 years they say is fine.?

doing it outdoors would be ok...just make sure you don't do it when it's windy otherwise any dust / particles that get caught between the vinyl and the paintwork will show through

I saw a matte black audi wagon the other day and it looked pretty good but not as fantastic as I have previously imagined.
I have seen a matte black Lambo though that looked great, however I'm sure that wasn't done on a budget.

Something different could look really good, like a matte blue or red or something.
