yes that grade is fine. S&J automotive put ULX110 brand oil in the GT's and WRX's with no detriment. Thats what mine has now. Mines done 60,000km too. Excellent oil btw. Quietens down the engine, runs a tad smoother too.

That's why he said Garage 88 stock it. You can provide your own oil you don't have to use what Subaru provides

Each subaru service department uses diffent types and weights.
Gt came with 5/30 from the factory..... 10/40 would be best if you enjoy a bit of spirited driving.

I have always used 10w30 in Subarus.

The dealership I worked in previously used 5w30 in GTs and H6s as they are expected to be driven a bit harder. The dealership I am currently working at uses 10w30 across all the EJ and HZ engines.

Either will suite, or as suggested a 10w40 is also suitable.
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

Thanks guys really appreciate it. Semi or full synthetic which is better ?

Delvac I've been reading about the 15w40mx this seems to be real popular with Subaru wrxs etc

Anyone using this oil ?

That's an interesting rationale.

ANY 5W30, if changed regularly, is suitable for a stock, road driven Liberty.

The problem with oil is that everyone who hasn't had an engine failure thinks their oil is "doing the job" and makes incorrect assumptions as to why.

That makes for a lot of random assumptions floating around the internet, many of which have become "fact".

If you want to know if your oil is "doing the job", test it.
