Lowering A Subaru Liberty

Hi I recently had my car lowered at Pedders. I asked them how low that I could go. And they said that they only make one lowered spring for a 1994 Subaru Liberty GX Sedan. So I said ok just fit it. I was wondering is that right? Are there other suspension company's and places who could of lowered my car more? It's low but I wanted to go lower all the way round. I would love to hear back from people and hear what they think.

King Springs make two level's, 25mm or 50mm.

Pedders probably only make one spring.

I shudder to think how much Pedder's charged.....

They charged me a lot. I'm not that happy. I should of got a quote some where else on the Gold Coast.

Pedders would be the very last place i'd go for suspension after reading some stories around here..

But if you failed to get quotes or shop around for different products then it's your own fault.

Pedders prices have gone up significantly in the last few years
i bought a full set of HD lowered springs for my GT Forester and they were about $330 for the set of 4
the last price i heard from another member was $300 for a pair of the same springs

I went and had one of those $14 safety checks. I was sitting in the waiting area. And then the manager walked out and said to me that my car was unsafe to drive out of the work shop. So I went and had a look with him it looked bad. Anyway it end up costing me $2300. I just feel that they ripped me off once I think about it. They made me stress out saying that my car wasn't safe to drive at all. They replaced 4 springs, 4 struts plus the front rotors.

That's quite possibly more than the value of the car itself?
Did you not appraise the quote before proceeding?
The point of running an old Lib is the spare parts are inexpensive and plentiful due to lots of intercompatibility with other Subes. buyer beware...

Thats the whole point of a Pedders $14 "safety" check. Get you in and then tell you need X amount of shit done and use scare tactics. Freaking ridiculous.

You could of got brand new BC BR coilovers for $1300.

You need to get some friends with mechanical skills stat!

Like Benny said, the beauty of Gen2's is parts are cheap and easy to source. Next time ask here first or PM me....

I was just scared to drive my car out of the shop because they were saying that its un drivable.Im going to contact Pedders head office and make a complaint against them.

Why?
