Slim license plate lift

Postby yipming » Tue Oct 02, 2012 5:23 pm

I have a "slim" NSW license plate and it sits a bit low on the front bumper.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a kit that can push it back up? Most of the license plate kit out there tilts the license plate and don't really allow any height adjustment.

Just Remove the two clips that are threaded for the bolts and slide them back on turned 90 degrees to the top, align with the two closer holes on your plate, mark new hole positions, remove clips, drill through the bar slightly larger than diameter of the bolt, slide clips back on, screw plates back on, this will give a raise of around 20mm and will cover the flat area behind the plate, assuming your plates have 4 holes along the top like Tassie ones.

What about at the back you can see the two black holes?
One of the youngens, so play nice.

Hmm ... Not sure what SPOC stands for. I do work sometimes at the Optus Mascot Exchange. Thus very likely it's me.

I see what you and blitzen mean. Hmm but I will wait a bit for crusin before I start drilling. Let's say I am not good at handcraft.

it means on the sedans, not sure about wagons, it has 2 black holes/ clips where the number plate itself drills into, but with a slim line you can see it quite visibly...

I see. I looked and nope, no unused holes visible. The back fits pretty well actually.

On the boot of sedans you can see the plate mounts about 10mm above the top edge of the plate. Ive also made ones to lift the rear 10mm before to cover.

NSW slim plates are a smaller profile than Vic ones and require less lift which is why you can get away with just spinning the speed nut around.
