Hi All!
Just picked up a 1st Gen 1993 Liberty GX (AUTO, 226,000ks) to become my first car (of any kind) in over 10 years. It is stock as the day it was built barring some fairly plain mags and a spoiler. Has a few issues that I have noticed already and the idea behind this car is to give me an opportunity to learn more about engines in general so I'm looking forward to pulling things apart.
Location: Brunswick, Melbourne
Plans: Windows tinted and detailing. Nothing major beyond that, as this is more for as an A to B car and for the price I paid for it, it is not worth investing heavily in. Main concern at present is that starting is a little hard at times. Sending it in for a service in the coming weeks, so hoping something will come out of that.
Previous rides: Bicycles. I've been riding and building up bicycles for friends and myself for the past 5 or so years. Currently have 2 single speeds and a 20" bmx. Back in high school I had a 1981 TG Holden Gemini which was pretty fun.
Any tips on good wreckers/mechanics etc in Melbourne (prefer inner north), please let me know.
Looking forward to learning more about Liberty's and this forum.
Matt
