You bet

Congratulations Rome on a good result. You must be very happy with the outcome.

With regards the above comment. I would be inclined to run the lower boost setting on the track.

On the street high boost is fine as the duration is generally very short.

On the track whilst driving hard and on peak boost for a possibly prolonged time, I'd be running a lower boost setting for safety.

Ultimately your call and wonder how other's feel about this.

+1

It’s been a known fact that boost is always set to lowest setting during continued hard use…e.g. track day.

That’s the best part with the HKS EVC, you can easily change between the setting and keep an eye on peak boost from time to time.

True valid point Bruce thanks for bringing this up. The size of the track would limit speed anyway so there wouldn't be much point increasing the boost come to think of it!

I'll be keeping an eye on my boost gauge all day as well, want to make sure I don't have any unwanted spikes!

Also, does anyone think it would be a good idea to log some data while tracking it tomorrow?

Thanks Tony for confirming.

New mods/parts and newly tuned car without sufficient time to log on road performance and not built as a track monster.

I'd be running a low boost setting.

I don't think you're allowed to have a laptop on the passenger seat whilst on the track unless fixed firmly and passes scrutineering.

The tactrix dongle hangs a bit low and is easily knocked in the heat of the moment and would be a reasonably costly replacement.

You should driving not trying to start and stop logs or checking corrections etc. It's just too tempting to look you'll find.

Anyway hope you have a stellar result tomorrow.

Agree it's probably not going to be allowed - but just as a side note on driving and logging, if you press the rear demister button in your ac control, it doubles as a log button for romraider

Just another handy nifty trick the romraider boys have come up with which I think is brilliant!!

And definitely lower boost - I'm gonna be running 17 instead of 21

Get an extension cable long enough to safety stash your laptop in the cargo nets on the back of the front seats….. it’s worked well for me in the past.

Tracking log is highly recommended to keep an eye on things for all cars.

Well it's been just over a week since I got my car back and wanted to report on some progress! Firstly, the car is SO good to drive! After having to drive it sedately for 2 months and then not having it for a further 4 weeks after that, it's been great to spend some quality time with it! First item on the agenda is to head on back to Garage 88 on Saturday to replace the brake pads that I fried on track day  Too much boost! Haha

Just also wanted to note...this turbo is amazing! Spools quick enough for me and once it kicks in you are really thrown back in the seat! Lag is overrated! I was scared of lag after reading multides of posts on this forum and other forums but it honestly isn't that bad! Because my car is a 2.5 ltr I have decent torque down low so it offsets this a bit but even still the overall change is not that much of a difference over stock. It is so worth it for the extra power in the mid-high ranges. Anyone who has come for a drive in my car will know that the lag is minimal and well worth the benefits!

I have also been in contact with Matt regarding some DBW and boost tweaks to hopefully have the torque converter lock up that little bit more. The prediction is 15psi by 3000rpm! Someone say lag? What lag??!

Also loving the general look of the FMIC, it is subtle and discreet yet sets the front end off nicely now and makes it look just that little bit more aggressive. The engine bay is also looking very schmick, it is a very neat install and once my engine covers go back on it will almost look stock! Once everything is touched up I will be sharing some sexy photos :air_kiss:

Oh and one other thing. The turbo has really made the exhaust scream on WOT! I am addicted to the sound of my engine opening up. As Leo said to me at the track day, it almost sounds like an external wastegate now!

It will be interesting to see how my car performs at WSID on October 3rd...I am hoping to get a decent video of it going up the strip too!

Glad you're enjoying the car Rome

Its an awesome feeling to go from driving another car (insert boring pulsar/ corolla / jazz other car here) to your own, modified one while waiting for it to be done hey?

I give it..... three weeks before you want even more power :)

Still can't get over the pull your car has man - go easy on those tyres

The stock crank does not like more than 6700rpm though unless the crank has been rephased for better oiling ;)
