Geez you've had a bad run. I'm an amateur and I wouldn't do something like that.

Hopefully you're finally on the up.

Boostaddict wrote:Yeh man you definitely have a story!! Good and bad but mostly heart breaking. I have my mechanic that has always done the right thing by me and doesnt bullshit to me or my wife!! He is not what you would call cheap but not the most expensive either. If i need things done ( little things to big ) and i go down and do it myself with his help he doesnt charge me, and i use his hoist and tools.

I honestly think i have a genuine good mechanic and have known him for 10yrs.

There are good mechanics out there, few and far between but they are there.

I cant remember seeing what 'shop' it was that has farked this up for you, or shouldnt i ask who they are??

There are some references to this around the place, you should be able to find it.

UPDATE:

More bad news ........

1/ Scoring on 2 cylinder walls ( will need to be investigated further to see if it can be machined out or else I'm up for a new block........I aint sleeving )
2/ Piston ring clips bent and wasn't installed properly
3/ Confirmed that OEM headstuds were used and not aftermarket
4/ Aftermarket rod bolts were used
5/ More inspection and quoting will occur tomorrow.....
6/ Need new cams ( thankfully Anthony aka gambit has his OEM cam set which he is passing onto me for a small fee, legend mate! thanks again )

fark me! thats just plain wrong.

it almost looks like you might be better off starting fresh with a new block Justin,
probably not the cheaper option but best to start from scratch to avoid these sorts of headfucks and so you are getting the parts you want!

UPDATE:

So my engine is in LEGO bits.....packed and ready to go.....hopefully the engineer has passed by this afternoon and picked it up.....now I have to play the waiting game again.....this could take days or maybe even a week+

Block and bits will be inspected and the verdict from that will be my next outcome..... my engine has a chance.....but who knows..

2 of my valves had oil deposits in it...so more bad news to add to my already long list of bad news......
