Apart from a few fitment issues a while back (handbrake cable) and some ning nongs having the adjustment bolts work loose (!) I can't find any major negatives...
I tried Penga's STi sts a while ago - it was almost too notchy and stiff, so maybe just do the shifter for now :D

hmmm that's a price that I could possibly sneak past the mister... :ninja:
do you have a link for this?

Subaru 6-Speed Double Adjustable Short Throw Shifter

I think around $265 sourced locally via carmods or prospeed...

RallySport Direct quoted on LGT

Allot of the "notch" people get with short shifters is coming from the bushings. The bushings get rid of all the slop, where the shifter just shortens the height of the lever and the throw length.

If you want a good all around shifter, you just cant go wrong with Kartboy.
If you want a shifter that you can play with, get the Mode Racing. It will allow you to adjust the throw and the Height independent of each other, allowing you to put it right where you like it.

If you want a crisp shift with out getting a short shifter, get the front and rear bushings. Keeps the stock length, but will make the shifter nice and crisp.

If you want a good shifter throw, but dont want the "notch" shifter. Get just the shifter of your choice.

If you want a shifter that is better then whats in BMW's, Porshes and so forth. Do the Short Shifter with bushings. Just be ready to re-learn the shift pattern.

Down side to bushings is that you will get a little more drive train noise in the cabin. But if you have a TBE. You will not even notice it.

Ask and one might receive :)
I bought a mint MY12 STi tiller via Rexnet tonight!
Owner upgraded... To DAMD!
Great result as the one bit of the interior that was looking very tired will be renewed, once the latest post-tune learning view is downloaded (wheel swap requires battery disconnect, natch).
Still on the hunt but way less pressure for real.
