Engine, ABS @ cruise fault / warning lights

Postby KB428 » Wed Aug 15, 2012 11:11 am

Hi All,

About 200km ago the engine, ABS and cruise warning lights on my dash went on / flashed for 2 days of driving in my 07 TBSti. During this time I could only drive in S mode and could not operate cruise control. I do believe that while the ABS light is on, ABS is non-functional. This occurred after the car had been momentarily bogged in snow at -4 deg temps and I'm not sure if it was a contributing factor. Strangely, after 2 days all appears to be back to normal.
I have a service at Subaru this Fri but was wondering if anyone has had this happen / had any ideas. I rang Subaru when it happened and they appeared unconcerned.
The car has only done around 40,000k's and this is the first issue I've had with it.

Cheers

I wouldn't be concerned. Sounds like you had a temp ABS sensor or vehicle wheel speed sensor fault during your shenanigans in the snow and it's self corrected.

The code would still be in your ECU stored so subaru could advise you of the reason it occurred.

Cheers.

Those 3 lights all flash when you have a Check Engine Light occurrence. Turning the ignition on and of 5 or 6 times will clear the CEL display if its a minor CEL. The CEL code can still be read sometimes in my experience but not all the time. It's best to get it read while the CEL is still showing on the dash.

Given the circumstances I don't think it will happen again.

Ive just had the same problem but i was giving it a hard time and the wheels tried to spin after that it did all the things your saying. i went away after driving it for an hour. I think it must be something regarding the wheels spinning or close to as this is what we both have in common.
