King Springs ksfl-42 on a 07 Lib GTB

Postby CheesyMong » Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:58 pm

Anyone else running these springs on the front? Mine don't quite sit low enough the rears look great but the front IMO could be another 10mm lower.

Anyone know of anyway to drop the front by another 10mm without using different springs etc...or coils overs

The King springs I have come to realise are shit.

I mean they sit ok, but how hard is it to design a spring that sits at the right ride height and is in proportion.

This is how my 04 sits, not 100% happy, but for $400 it's worth it.

In answer to your question, I don't think there is any other option, than the very $$ ones.

I agree with Skooby on this one, kings are trash, i had em on my old liberty & like everyone else the lib sat high at the front.

If you want it lower at the front i reckon you might have to spend a few more $$ on custom springs (I dont know who does em or how good they are) or coilovers.
Cheers,

Rosso.

When I had my MY05 GT, I had Pedders on there for a while. They were just ok, but I wanted something just 10-15mm lower for the front. :new_russian:

So I rang up Pedders (this was when I didn't know better, as one never ever deal with Pedders if you have a Liberty) and they said go with King Springs for the front, as it will sit lower. :pardon:

Of course after the install and they drove the car out, the front shot up 20mm! WTF?! :angry2: Certainly not the kind of lowering I was expecting after looking at the Liberty they had pictured for their example.

So the shop put the Pedders back on straight away as I refused to drive off with them on, because they did not live up to their word.

Anyway, I had Kings for my Eunos 800, and they were okay. But I don't think they quite got their application for the Liberty right. :no2:

+1 for Skooby and Rosso....

I now have coilovers and happy as a pig in mud :D I should have listened to Louey and Phil and Mike from the start cause now with Coilovers, I can adjust to ANY height.

My 2cents, get abit of coin and go the coilovers, worth every dime :D

Yeah cheers Adam, I love the colour, still a biatch to take pics of at night

Thanks Trieu for taking pics of the car

I have always said, it is a very "wet" colour when washed, always looks the shiniest in the carpark.

King Springs

Postby Q » Sun Mar 02, 2008 2:29 pm

I went through the King spring hassle last year when I installed their products. I went with what their catalogue said and ended up with the same results as everyone esle, front too high and rear too low. I thought it would settle but of course it didn't. Around a month later i was moving to QLD so on the way I dropped into King Springs to see what they had to say.

Turns out that the springs that I had installed were the wrong one's. Initially I had KSFL42 (drop of 10mm)and KSRL27 (drop of 40mm). The correct ones are KSFL42SP (20-25mm) and KSRL29 (15-20mm). My car is a MY05 GT wagon and why they haven't updated their catalogue is obviously down to the guy that dealt with me hasn't passed on the info.

With the correct springs it does sit level.

If anyone is interested in the springs check out the for sale section.

i've had kings on a few cars and the front is always not as low as the back .. i think it's because the front wheels turn so too low and they may foul the wheel arches?

I'm too cheap for coilovers so I go for the next best thing, which isn't the best but it's the cheapest.....
