Exhaust various

Postby Newbie GT » Thu Aug 09, 2012 6:27 pm

Hi guys

Noise from engine on cold like a fan spinning then stops also seems to cause exhaust vibtartions (to me any way)

Second when revving in neutral slighly stock muffs by the way as the rpm lowers I seem to get popping or a sucking type noise on de acceleration ?

Is there a hole and how to test

Much appreciated

First Q, Sounds like AC fan is cutting in and out (as it should)

Have you had the car tuned since you put the new exhaust on? This may not be the whole problem but it sure won't be helping...

Fan spinning is normal if you have your climate control on when starting the car.
Vibration could many things, loose bolt / gasket, loose or cracked heat shield, loose muffler tip, rooted cat, chipped turbo tooth in your cat/muffler, babies arm wearing a ring, pebbles in muffler from local forum members, terrible dubstep on your stereo, plus many more things....

Get under the car and check it out from a cold start. Safety precautions should be taken unless your looking to join the Darwin awards.

This sound like mine on cold start, ended up being the secondary air pump, it goes on when cold start for about 1 min than turn off for epa, it was rattling and could be heard at the rear muffler, tighten the bolt up that hold the air pump and it stopped (the vibration).
