he mentioned there is a gen 1 around somewhere that was making around 600hp at the wheels, running a retrofitted late model 5EAT.. apparently it held the power.. i was a bit skeptical, but both the guys were saying they are bullshit strong..

It's odd that they have told you that. In the states there are quite a few late model 5EAT owners who have blown their transmissions with some as low as 300hp all the way through to some with over 450hp atw...
