bilco512 wrote:bad news.. took my car to the mechanic today, and it needs new brakes (even though they feel fine to me when driving)
so there goes $700 after the check up, fixing the gear stick slop and the brakes :(

i don't think mods will be on the cards for a while then! :(

should have told them not to do the brakes, then sourced your own uprated parts :D might not be cheaper, but you get what you want with a little added safety ;)

yeah, i would have hey, the mechanic tried to ring me, didn't work because i was in a meeting, then rang my dad, who then told him to go ahead :?
bugger it!

Trust me, you don't want to skimp on braking! I've got a pretty major brake overhaul coming up soon and this is an area I won't be compromising on at all.

yeah Skimping out on brakes is something you dont do, but when they are fine and the mechanic wants to replace them with ones that would only be 20% - 30% better
then you start to think its not needed,
at least i wont have to do them for a while i guess!

I'm pretty sure jax has them on their website so hey should be able to get them.

ITSSTI has a set that he might be convinced to sell.

also, i had a blown fog light so i went to the store and just got a standard H3 Globe, went to the severe effort to put the thing in (way harder than it should be haha)
and turned them on... only to find it is still not working, any ideas on what i should do next to get this thing working? :(
