You should have a new DBW tune by tomorrow still with no changes to fueling or timing PLUS a working logger file for your ECU!!

Without having any logs or data other than the existing ignition timing, fueling and AVCS, I think I matched up the engines torque output up nicely to the 5EAT!!

Tim,

The transmission re-build has been completed and have been driving around with a new ROM Image from Kido Racing that adjusted the DBW maps. Must say, that it has improved the auto transmission shifting behaviour immensely.

J,

What can I say more than.... :D

There is a claim that my current tuner (Matt through Bryce at Kido Racing) can make our 5EAT perform like a DSG. Well, I sort of scoffed at that until I started using Sport Mode with manual shifts. Mate it is awesome! Combined with the strength of the auto box, the slick shifts combined with the smoothness, it has me drawn in. Now, there are still a couple of little issues with the auto mode, but I am expecting a new ROM image any day now.

After the auto shifts tuning is completed, I think we will be starting on the A/F and Timing side of the engine tune. Exciting times ahead and I feel like it is all starting to come together nicely for me.

I am still waiting on the write up of the re-build from David at Kewish Transmissions, so I will remind him.

Can you please have a mate in the back seat film you shifting up and down some gears at various rpms?
That would be great to see.

Mmm... Good thinking. I might be able to show this with a properly positioned GoPro in the cabin. WIll need to see the tacho and the gear lever shifting. Maybe next weekend I will have a play.

This cure for the automatic thing really excites me, so much potential for owners of automatics to really get in on the action.

A tune of the engine/trans will always be beneficial after the headers as well for the Autos
