Mornington Peninsula Cruise - Sunday 10 June

Mornington Peninsula Cruise - Sunday 10 June

Postby MH3.0R » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:33 am

Hey people,

Since I got my car back yesterday, time to put some k's under the belt to get a feel for the transmission. I was just going to sneak off by myself, but then thought there are probably others of us out there with not much on the the long weekend. So, I just post this up and feel free to turn up tomorrow (Sunday) if you want.

DETAILS:

Start Location: Coles car park, the northern end (or bay end) in Mornington. I am going to be there from 8am for breakfast at Coffee Traders, 3 Blake St, Mornington.

Departure time: 10am from the car park.

Lunch stop at Sorrento. Seating at a Restaurant is at a premium, so I prefer to do takeaway, then drive out to the Sorrento Lookout over Bass Straight. Mmmm Fish n Chips anyone?

I'll see you there Mark, unless we have a baby between now and breakfast.

Do I need to reserve a spot at breaky (8am) or on the starting grid (10am)? But only if you're awake!

The Breakfast Focaccia with bacon, egg, tomato relish, melted tasty cheese and avocado was pretty damn good! If you are in Mornington, remember Coffee Traders, 3 Blake St, Mornington. But get there early as by the time we left, there was a queue outside of people waiting for a table. They open 8.30am on Sunday's and place was full at shortly after 9am.

For the cruise leg, I led the way all day! Come to think of it, I was also tail end charlie all day as well? Well, maybe that was because I was the only car on the cruise leg! Still enjoyed the Arthur's Seat climb, then the Boneo Rd, then Fish n Chips on the Rye Ocean Beach (watching some ridiculous people in the water - was that you Cruisn?), followed by the back way to Arthurs Seat and then the descent. Stopped at the mother-in-laws in Rosebud and was plied with fresh coffee and fresh home made ginger and treacle cake with lashings of fresh cream (last thing I need for my expanding waist).

Was going to do a video with the GoPro, but I could not get behind myself to shoot a Liberty! So, the Go Pro stayed in the bag.

Also got passionate about tuning my car again, thanks to Bruce's research of the linkage between ECU and TCU. There are some definite leads to follow. Thanks also for Brian trying to read my ECU. It is being very obstinate and I cannot read (copy the image) using ECU Flash with my Tactrix 1.3U cable, nor could Brian with his Tactrix 2.0 cable and his notebook/driver combination. Further discussion will be in my build, Project Veloci in Post Your Mods area.

Sounds like you had a nice day Mark. Your write-up makes me want to eat as much as drive!
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!
