This is a pic of my dads 2011 outback after the electronic handbrake failed !!! Luckily he had been to Subaru twice before in regards to it playing up. Thank god for insurance !

Sadly new cars have parking brakes not hand brakes

Why wasn't it in gear/Park?

If you know the handbrake fails then it's just logic.

Alternatively, devo. That would suck bums.

The car was actually still running I think(dad was a bit devo when I spoke to him earlier) Subaru claimed they had fixed it and it hadn't played up since. The car actually doesn't get driven much, maybe once a month.
Oh well now he is looking for replacements with HAND brakes :-)

Ouch! I'm guessing there's a boat trailer under there too? Did it jack knife going back into the water and damage the car??
