I'll leave it to them. They've done a stellar job on Justin's car and by all accounts Brian's car should be too.

Perhaps it's time you jumped on too Brandon.

i wanna see how all the guys at springy go and ginos at the edge, the guy down at the edge does weekend work and said we could be pressant when he's running it and i really like that kind of support

Me too, I'm hoping the tuner I am going to use in Sydney will let me be there while he does his thing :D

Sorry to hear about your woes Bruce, and good to know that you have made a wise decision. We learn and move on. I have no doubt your tune will get sorted at springy.

Cihan made comments about good tunes for Dee's Forrester and Justins beast. Both are springy tunes and can attest they do great work.

When i first jumped from hp-f to springy, the tune felt leaps and bounds beyond the hp-f tune. The 173.4 result was fantastic and it felt fantastic. I've had comments about how quick it feels. Driving Justin's car with the before and after tune, i can honestly say it feels like a totally different car and definitely for the better.
My latest trip to Springy with the work done and going on the dyno has me itching to get the car back so i can enjoy it!

So from personal experience and others, i'm sure Bruce is in safe hands...

I can attest to just how powerful your car felt when you let me drive it Brian.
Bruce happened to be sitting in the passenger seat at the time and he (and my younger brother in the backseat) had the misfortune of hearing me swearing my head off at how amazing it felt to drive.
I tried to tell Bruce in a nice way that your tune felt a lot better, but it went on deaf ears at the time.

Can't wait to see the real results you get from a decent workshop now Bruce, really looking forward to it.
Shame you aren't trying E85 though, but here's to hoping

I'm also in a way glad that I wasn't just being a dick when I thought Revzone were shit when they serviced my car.

Well I had a less than great experience with my service there. Considering I dropped my car off the night before they weren't even ready with my car until 6pm when I had booked it in almost 2 weeks prior. To me that says they are trying to do too much and missing things. Which was clear with my service which they charged me out the ass for and just disregarded a lot of things I had told them about and claimed they couldn't hear them. Which was bullshit because my loose springs at the rear can be heard whenever you hit a bump, but they claimed "no fault found"....yet you can hear it driving out of their fucking driveway?

i remember you saying that, everywhere has there issues even springy... my mates xr6 had a tooth out on the cam after they did the cam in it and they couldnt find the fault until we took it to another guru mate that said cam timing was out. then and only then did springy find teh issue. my mate was not impressed

hey bruce dont mind us taking over your thread lol

My issues were not with the work they did but the work they didnt have time for. im not saying they dont know what they are doing just they take on too much seemingly and then make up lies as to why they didnt do stuff. I called Justin at 5pm and he said my car wasnt ready yet and would be done by 6.30.
considering they had my car since the night before for fluid changes its pretty obvious they didnt even start work on my car until probably 2pm. Thats not the kind of workshop im after when im paying that sort of money. not to mention the other lies i was told about my belt noise....

Update time:

Since the retune at Springy the car has been much better. I've logged it occasionally and its always shown no knock and IAM at 1.0. AFR's have been pretty much spot on and since I've had confirmation that my injector latency settings are fine and my MAF scaling it very good I've just been enjoying the car and planning my next steps.

Well at the retune at Springy, Danny mentioned that my STI mufflers are possibly one of the last restrictions I had along with the perhaps the stock intake.

So I've been researching, as per usual, and speaking to all the right people, and I made a decision to go with a freer flowing exhaust. And eventually, put in a Cobb intake and housing to replace the factory air box.

After all the research, I ended up giving the job to a local shop in Ringwood, approximately 10 mins from home. My reasons were close to home, and to keep the money in the local community and Australia. My other options were prefabricated setups from either the US or Japan.

http://www.performanceexhaust.com.au/

Apart from his insistance I return the second cat for EPA regulations to be met Dave seemed like someone I could work with and let me know what's good and bad in the stuff they sell. He sells both the cheap chinese no name stuff and the brand name stuff too to meet demand from all walks of life.

I finally caved in to his request and agreed to install the second cat. All components are Magnaflow and the pipework was custom made in 3 inch mid section and 2.5 inch Y section. I didn't like the massive 4 inch tips that these systems normally are setup with so I've gone with a very OEM looking 3 inch tips. The work looks good to me and a nice bunch of people to deal with.

I'm now waiting on a quote from Adam and hopefully the price is right and I'll come on down to Tuspeed to grab it and then back on the dyno to squeeze a bit more out of the car.

Here are some pics.

Thanks guys.

Will chuck up a sound clip tomorrow during the day.

I will say it's loud compared to my previous setup.

No drone, though I've not been driving at freeway speeds. At normal suburban speeds it seems fine.

You might be stretching it for no drone at 100 with a 5th gear only, but with 6th you should be fine. Is yours 3" all the way through including Y-pipe? If you had the Xforce/TCP centre you would be struggling to not get freeway drone.
I get drone when I'm doing 60 in 3rd up a hill....but when you are in 3rd you tend to enjoy that
Otherwise mine is fine, but that's the 2.25" Y-pipe and 16x8 centre muffler which helps a hell of a lot.

Interesting that this guy basically forced you to get 2nd cat put back in? Must have had some trouble in the past or something with people dobbing him in if they got fined?
