Postby Bezzza » Fri Mar 16, 2012 8:49 pm

Hi Guys (and girls???),

Thought i best post up a meet and greet as like so many i have read, long time lurker first time poster!

Name: Ian
Location: Inner Perth, WA
Car: MY08 2.5i Wagon (base pack :(), 4AT, Regal Blue
Previous Ride: 1987 white Ford Laser Hatch

So much to see to get the mind boggling on what can (and in a very few cases) can't be done to the liberty's on this forum. Also nice people who are always willing to help out a fellow libertarian and give their advice and opinions on each others cars.

Before reading have been rather uneducated on cars but through trolling the many topics have gained a wealth of knowledge on cars.

Look forward to posting more and being involved in gatherings etc and getting the liberty love out there

Have listed below current mods and those i wish to complete. being an N/A car most of it is purely cosmetic.

Mods:

Formula1 Tint
LED Parkers & Number Plates
Narva Arctic Blue Low beam & Fogs
MB Quartz Front Splits and Rear 2-Ways

Future Mods in order of to do:

Re-spray tow bar
Custom plates - White on Black
Ultrex front grille and lip
Sti Aluminium Pedals
Leather Transmission Boot
Rota GRA 18x7.5 Wheels (will only do when current rubbers dies, still has plenty left unfortunately!)
BC/BR Coilovers
Double Din H/U

Pictures will follow but all i have for now is crappy phone pics. Will post them up in the coming days.

Talk to you all soon hopefully!

Ian

Welcome Ian!

I've pretty much got the same car as yours, but in sedan form, you can also put a mean looking (and sounding exhaust), which isn't too loud! :)

As you mentioned, all the guys here are very helpful! I'm also looking forward to the next meet and greet, chance for me to meet all you helpful guys too!!
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

Not too sure about exhaust at this stage, I do want to keep the car farely "bolt on" so to speak so when I do sell can easily put it back to stock.

Will do my best to make the next gathering definitly. Will feel rather inadequate though with all the turbos around  haha. But it does mean I can gawk at all your cars in the flesh :P

Hopefully also be an opportunity to get some decent photos taken of the car!

Yeah the system on my car is bolt on, gives the car a nice purr, until you go higher in the rev ranges and it turns into a scream. Reminds me a lot like a VTEC system... thought I would get the burble... but its not as evident as the WRXs and the older Libertys. It's different to when you attend meets and you are the only Liberty in the swarm of Rexes... (right JDGT05??? hahah! - Stance meet).

Did a little Easter weekend project on the car, new K&N high flow air panel filter and while I had the box out did the "resonectomy".

Can notice a big noise difference when putting the foot down, much more of a growl rather than a whine from the engine. Brings out a bit of the boxer burble which is nice :D
Was remarkably simple to do, no real troubles except dropping the spanner a few times and having to reach and retrieve haha!

Next on the list custom prestige plates, grille and front lip.

Thanks hoff, +1 for the blue! I'll be honest though when i first bought the car i wasn't too keen on the colour (bit old man colour haha). Was the only wagon in my price range and didn't want to sit round waiting for a white/black wagon to pop up.
But the colour definitly has grown on me and think it looks pretty good now :)
