Well this is almost the end of an era for me unfortunatly...

But on a bright note.. yesterday spotted an immaculate MY08 Tuned by STi Silver sedan with that unique sweet Subbie rumble. Was filling the bike up at BP East Perth when I heard it come round the roundabout.

Yes, the time has come. I find these days I drive the Lib like Miss Daisy. Dont get me wrong, i love that flexible midrange punch, but I dont fang from lights or wind it out down my favourite stretch of road. I leave that for my 2010 Ninja ZX14. Sorry guys, there simply can be no comparrison. Ever.

But more than that, while ive been nothing but proud to own such a beast in my tuned by STi, I would find the use out of a ute and a 4x4 more rewarding.
So after 3 years and only 18,500km on the clock, sadly I can not justify owning 2 vehicles plus my bike. As I said, the bike more than fills my thrills and leaves my driving very sedate. So to make way for the new Toy, the Lib has been traded on a new Ford Ranger XLT dual cab 3.2 turbo diesel 6 speed manual (ofcourse).
I took her in for shits and giggles for a value, and when after a bit of negotiation, agreed on a price only 3 grand short of what I thought I would realistically get selling privately.. and save the hassle of trying to sell a vehicle while working up north, im letting her go. I guess them low KM's worked in my favour, as they didnt seem to blink an eye at some damage on the drivers side. They professed that these cars just dont come up on the market in Tuned by STi, in manual, and low low km.

All is not lost. After the Thai floods, there is atleast a 2month wait on a new Ford Ranger. My trade in price is locked in as long as I dont rack up 5,000km... I explained I am going to Margaret River (actually this Monday) so would be atleast another 1,000km just in that trip alone. Was fine by them. So still time to enjoy that midranch punch on some great roads in the mean time.

Ive had my car for a year now and only put 5000km on the clock, when you work away you only drive your car so much. Good to know they still hold their value.

Where are you trading it in? There might be a few on here that would be interested in it.

It's almost 2 years and I've put almost 10,000km on mine... which reminds me, its due for a service (when it really isn't).

My car has been racking up heaps of kms since I've had it... almost 15,000 and i've only had it a year! But I guess... why have a nice car and not enjoy it? Still runs great! =)

Just got home from a superb day cruising down Margaret River way. Shot down Caves Rd to Augusta and fell in love wih her all over again. I must have rocks in my head trading it in. I obviously havent bothered turning that SI drive knob to the right in a fair while.... cos at 80km/h that instant broad midrange response in 4th and 5th makes me tingle. (haha my bike makes me almost shit my self when i pull the trigger) Still have the factory tuned by STi exhaust fitted , but that boxer note can still be heard hidden in there bringing a smile...

It is a very hard to beat packaged car in that environment. I know for sure now, im going to regret getting rid of it at some stage... but life moves on and you have to move with it.

So upto 19,400km now. Still got it for atleast 6 weeks. Probably 9. Ill kick my self if i dont get out and get some vids on my Go Pro's (have the original HD hero and also have the HD hero 2) So ill have to make a vid to remember her by, including some drive bys,

Oh yeah, had a sweet run down Caves pretty much to myself. Only shared the last 15mins with a tidy XT Forrester. Dont think he realised how quick these stealth looking libs actually are.

So the info you are waiting on, well Its going to Park Ford in Bently, but being a John Hughes dealership, Id put money on it going upto his main Yard. He would want this gem up there with the foot traffic and not hidden in a yard in Bently.
Im going back to Ford tommorrow early arvo to sort my finance on the Ranger. They did mention first time they tried to sign me up I could put the Liberty as a trade, but wouldnt stop me from finding a private buyer for it while I wait for them to get a ranger in. Ill confirm tommorrow if thats still the case.

They are taking it as is, with some light panel damage (dented by a twit on a scooter who fell over at the lights, but got up an pissed off thru traffic.) to the front guard. Only dented, no paint damage. They semed very keen as they said this model just doesnt come on the Market, with Manual, and especially low km like this. So If I were to sell it private, Id still sell as Is. Id imagine by the price they have signed for it, atfer knocking out the dent which they reckon will only cost them around $500, id imagine theyre gonna try $45,000. So Ill find out tommorrow if Im allowed to get a private buyer cos we all know $45K is over the top. But they have signed trade in value bit above redbook so it saves me hassle of finding a buyer and makes finance transfer easier with the dealer taking it.
But If i can sell private I have a price in mind which is very fair to all parties (taking into account its not unmarked condition). Also has 1 rashed up wheel, just havent bothered to put the matching unmarked spare on, just to keep the tread depths even. I work away 2n1 so makes it even harder to sell stuff.

So theyre telling me they dont have a problem if I sell it privately even tho we locked in a trade in price.
They said if they take it, it will end up at John Hughes main used yard at Vic Park, but used Ford dealer popped over while I was at the new car rooms today and said he'd be making enquires if he could get it there. Was told theyd fix the guard and probably start asking $44,990 (Bahaha some idiot might pay that)

So who wants it before I give it to them? Have to have settlement done by first week of May so i can finance the new truck (is all approved pending trade in)

Oh yeah current Kms are 19,250 after a trip to Margs and Augusta yesterday, was only guessing last night what they were.
Just had the drivers side door M seal replaced under warranty today which is now over. Only ever had a HID globe replaced that went purple and this door window seal were only problems ever had with it.

Heres a pic from Yesterday outside Augusta Bakery. Damaged guard is this side... wouldnt call it minor, but still doesnt stand out as you can see. Behind the front wheel about 3/4 up
